Review of Trinity Theatre from 8 December 2012
Comedy Cafe at the Trinity - Don't go, the worst comedy club I have ever been too. Its wasn't that it wasn't funny at any one point. The Compere was terrible, couldn't cope with a low grade hecker. Comedians and Compere just abused and heckled him, and weren't funny doing it. 'just Saying F off is not funny' and wishing the heckler would die horribly with his bum rotting away. The whole experience of the evening was terrible.   The food at the venue was also under par.

I regularly go to the Komedia in Brighton and venues on Bristol, I didn't expect as a smooth operation at the Trinity, but it was such a low standard.

I was at the same ..have been to others before and since which were wonderful… I agree about this compere, but the heckler was really unpleasant , and just ranted on and on to the irritation of the whole audience; and he and his party were finally evicted to everyones relief. sadly he set the tone for the evening. The second comic wasn`t good either, and I think the audience had had enough by then. However I went to another Comedy cafe the following week which was wonderful great atmosphere, good comics, and just great fun.. I guess its pot luck..and you probably get bad comics at any venue, but on the whole I have always had a good time at Trinity Comedy Cafes..

Review of Trinity Theatre from 6 September 2010
(updated on 12 September 2010 )

I have seen early acts at The Trinity that went onto mainstream success. These are Eddie Izzard, Mark Steel and Mark Thomas. Seen a few bands (Hugh Cornwell ex stranglers front man) in there too. It struggles being a music venue due to the fixed seating arrangement. Recommend as a theatre and stand up comedy venue. Nice large foyer area which is good at crowded interval drinks time.

Nice local theatre with a lovely cafe and bar. All kinds of productions are put on here from comedies to plays. There is also an art gallery which is free to visit.
Close to town and with parking for visitors to the theatre. The place is an old church which is a great building.

Review of Trinity Theatre from 17 November 2008

Last year, I took the family to see a production of 'The Night Before Christmas’ here which featured only 3 actors but was truly entertaining. It’s a small theatre and by no means full on the evening we went but the atmosphere was great. There’s a cafe and bar and I think there are discounts for groups.
Please support this venue before it’s lost to TW.

Current reports have yet another mainstay of Tunbridge Wells struggling to survive. There are some brilliant events held here and whilst i believe they have moved towards the alternative comedian circuit of late it could be an inspired move. Please check it out..
