Princess Royal Theatre The

The Princess Royal Theatre is a comfortable modern theatre where one can see wonderful musicals by Port Talbot Operatic Society. The Meyncrythan A O S , Briton Ferry Musical S, & Neath AOS also are performing there while the fire damaged Gwyn Hall Theatre is being rebuilt ...The standard of musicals seen there are very high considering the limitations of the theatre , the wings were angled and made an already reduced space smaller , a door was put in the rear to bring in scenery but one could not fly any as gantries run the wrong way ..Considering all the limitations and challenging design features the standard of production is very very high and one should always go and see such marvelous productions there ..The staff are welcoming and very helpful and the sound engineer there was brilliant .........

Was quietly impressed by this little venue. On my visit went to see the 80's Liverpuddlian soul band The Christians in concert.

The theatre is centrally located next to the Aberafan Shopping Centre and is in fact a wing of the council offices (not a seperate physical building like I expected or assumed.)

It is easy to commute to as I travelled by rail and stopped off at the Port Talbot Parkway station, although car owners can easily slip off the M4 to get there.

Quite a modern building inside & out and the theatre has little bar too. Staff are very helpful & friendly at the theatre too.

Well worth going to in order to check out a music or comedy act of your choice.

The impressive Princess Royal Theatre is a multi purpose theatre and boasts a capacity of 798 for full theatre events and banqueting facilities for up to 300.

The theatre is located in the centre of Port Talbot just off junction 41 of the M4, with 105 car parking spaces and excellent access to rail and bus links.

The theatre has held numerous and varied events including the annual Owen Money Theatre Company pantomime, professional and amateur shows, concerts, children's shows, opera, musicals, comedy evenings, ceremonies and presentations, major conferences, seminars, exhibitions, fayres, dinner dances and weddings.
