10 reviews of Cairngorm Hotel in English
The rooms are good, comfy beds and great breakfasts and some great skiing. We didn't eat in the bar/restaurant so don't know but all in all the stay was great!
9.9/10!!

Unpretentious food, generous portions, friendly efficient service. Not Cordon blue, but I love it here and visit at least once a month. Good beer from the bar in the next room.

This is about the restaurant only, I didn't stay in the hotel over night.
Maybe our expectations have been too high - we didn't like it. Service was fast, but food came fast, too fast, as well. I had duck which was a bit like gum, my friend had trout that too could have been better. Both dishes were quite cold.
I cannot recommend.

Ate in the restaurant: the service was fast and polite but could have been friendlier though it's understandably busy too. Vast range of hearty pub-type food will satisfy big appetites and doesn't break the bank, the food is tasty but isn't going to win awards.

Live Music at the Cairngorm is normally in the bar itself and whilst that makes for a brilliant atmosphere JJ Gilmour (ex Silencers frontman) fans prefer a 'listening' experience - hence his gig will be in the function room which will better suit his particular audience.
If you like this guy's music, you will absolutely LOVE the live experience!
Here's a snippet of Jinky on stage with Graeme Duffin during the May gig at Brennans Late Lounge in Perth (fan video).

I didn’t stay at this hotel, but I ate in their restaurant, and I must say that it is one of the best places to dine in Aviemore!! Beats the MacDonald restaurants, the Indian, and the Australian place across the road!
Lots of different Scottish dishes available, and a wide selection of traditional British fare. Prices are very reasonable, the decor is very well done and traditional, and the service was fast and prompt.
Try one of the homemade soups! They are amazingly good.

We had an amazing night’s sleep here, it was just a shame they had no space for the next night and we arrived too late for dinner in the restaurant. FYI, the indian across the road is NOT so good! Comfortable bed and bathroom, good shower, great price. We would suggest booking online through a bookings website though, it was £65 for our double online, but they quoted £90 when we called up.

Ace place - open fire with a paper and 'soup & sandwich’ or a pint of stag and the six nations on the big screens. Great atmosphere and fast service.

Good place to get in away from the cold and enjoy a nice pint. Good amount of character, only minus is it can get a bit cramped, but then that’s the sign of a good bar, I suppose!
