Gl1 Gloucester Leisure Centre

i love the massive pool it has! Seems clean and friendly to me. good proce for swimming! More current day to day stuff should be added on thier website.

Great little leisure centre - had some nice changes made to it over the years. Free swimming for under 16s is a bonus too!

Good clean leisure centre, lots of facilities including four swimming pools (8 lane competition pool, 4 lane pool, learning pool and fun pool with slide and bubble jets for kids under 11) It costs £3.45 for adult non members and £2.15 for kids. Better deals can be had by joining the resident GO card scheme. Other activities include badminton, 5aside, basketball, volleyball, netball, gymnastics, martial arts, bowls, squash, table tennis etc… Great deals for locals. Definitely an improvement on the old Gloucester Leisure Centre!! Good venue for bands that play on occasion.

Great place for all the family. We use it for childrens swimming where the pools are geared up for all ages including a fun pool and a shallow pool for those learning to swim. The classes are very good and easy to book with some available to do online. Changing areas are clean and spacious with the showers being very warm, they also have a few family changing rooms which are ideal for those with younfer children.

The cafe sells excellent food and drink, and after going to a couple of parties there the party food is very good also. Parking can be a problem but it is within easy reach from the bus station.

Overall a good centre with a variety of activities.

I take my children swimming at GL1 and it’s fantastic. There are slides, bubbles and even a baby hot tub in the childrens’ area, and there’s a standard shallow learner pool alongside the fun pool. The family changing area is spacious and there are plenty of cubicles, each with a wall mounted toddler seat and a baby changing station. Everything still looks new and well maintained.

The prices are reasonable and the coffee shop is clean and very convenient for a post swimming snack. I believe that the other classes and facilities are of a very high standard, although I personally am yet to investigate them.

Clean facilities and professional staff are a plus for this leisure centre. For swimming with small children, the big pluses are the toddler-friendly small pools (very shallow, so children can be in their depth even if they’re only crawling in the beach-style entry to one pool) and family changing rooms. Down sides are the lack of parking and occasional tendency to book more 'important’ events over regular classes.
