Since the docks are going through a period of refurbishment this is a great place to visit as there is always something going on. The museum is on about 4/5 levels so alot of stair climbing (or take the lift), plenty to see and do and lots of interaction which the children enjoy. There is a couple of outbuildings one of which houses a large water system which the kids will spend ages on so be warned they could come back wet. The cafe sells lovely tea and gorgeous homemade cakes well worth it after all the walking!!

On the newly refurbished docks this has been brought back to life….......its a good place to take the kids for a day out but can be a bit boring. We might remeber Rosie and Jim and the canal boats but not many kids today are interested.
Shame because it has a place in some of our hearts. Go along anyway you may just enjoy it.
