An atmospheric bar. The place is always clean and bright - there is a brilliant sheen off all the brasses. The place in reasonably spacious. It is old world but by no means run down. It is just north of the heart of Belfast. It is but a stone’s throw from St Anne’s which is the Church of Ireland cathedral.
Gerry Adams worked here as a bar man from 1963 for a few years but don’e let that put you off. All are welcome.
This is amazing bar, it’s always bunged and has live music upstairs on a Friday night. It’s a really mixed crowd, young and old and a few Ulster rugbly players have been known to frequent here too.
The bar staff are quick and friendly and the door men are generally good for a laugh, especially the really tall gorgeous one.
