6 reviews of Marsh Farm Country Park in English
Marsh Farm is a great day out with the family, there are places to eat and a little gift shop. If you go in the spring you will get to see all the baby animals which is adorable! There are pony ride's and a small petting bit where they keep rabbits , ferrets, guinea pigs and many more for you to hold and stroke. At easter and halloween there are treasure hunts for your children to win prizes. There is a great playground that is great for kids as young as 2 to as old as 11 to play on! You can buy animal feed at a cheap price so you can feed the animals as you make your way around the farm. Also, theres a tractor ride that goes along the river and past fields of sheep, horses and much much more!
A fantastic day out for the kids as long as you have the weather. Go in the spring to see lambing and the piglets. Good walks surround the place and there is a little place to eat. The gift shop is full of the usual rubbish, pots of jam with your name on it and stuff like that. Lol, but it’ll cheer up your kids and your nan.

If you’re thinking of going to Marsh Farm, make sure you go in spring and take advantage of theri breeding program - there’s always so many adorable baby animals!
The Farm also runs various themed weekend full of activities that are fun for all the family and very educational.
It’s fairly cheap to enter, compared to other similar attractions.
Definitely take children, of all ages, there’s something for everyone and is always worth a visit.
But beware - it is nature - some of the animals do smell!

A great day out on the farm. Very educational with lots of displays telling you more information in a child friendly way. Normally special days held through out the year including lambing weekends, santa, and trips on the tractor - very bunpy go before lunch. A great way to get close to the animals. Feed available to hand feed. Small area with trundle trucks and cars in - great to adults a rest, also sand pit area. Carfe serving hot meals and snacks, and a lovely gift shop for those souvenirs. Season tickets are a great buy for locals.

Marsh Farm Country Park provides an enjoyable and educational day out for all the family. Marsh Farm is a working farm where children can get close to farm animals and play safely in adventure play areas. There is also a Country Park, which has excellent coastal walks and superb views of the River Crouch.
The land at Marsh Farm Country Park has seen many developments over time. Iron age settlers were attracted there by a river, rich for fishing, hunting and salt.
In Roman times Marsh Farm had several “Red Hills”. It is believed that these areas were where saltwater was evaporated by the sun or by using very hot stones, which left a red earth deposit. The sea salt left behind was a highly valued commodity. Trading boomed and by the 15th century a wooden bridge had been built across to Hullbridge, only to be destroyed in the Civil War around 1645.
Marsh Farm overlooks the River Crouch and is surrounded by its creeks on three sides. The creeks of Woodham are the furthest inland stretches of the sea in Essex, with the exception of Battlesbridge, a few miles to the south-west. The Country Park is a good example of Essex grazing marshes, carrying rare plants such as sea barley and grass vetchling.
Sheep can be seen grazing on the sea walls and dykes during the summer months, which helps create a unique habitat for rare coastal plants.
The Country Park is recognised as an internationally important site for over-wintering brent geese. Every winter the marshes are visited by hundreds of wildfowl and waders. Over 150 species of bird have been seen around the Country Park, making Marsh Farm the perfect spot for bird watching all year round.
