I would like to say thankyou once more to Frasier at LimeBlew, for not only coming in on his day off but also for giving me so much more confidence about my hair, i cannot wait till my wedding next week with my hair looking amazing... He was recommended to me by a mutual friend and i can say for sure i will be a returning customer.
Thanks again RG x

I have paid my first visit to lime blew today, situated down one of the westend s interesting little lanes off Byres road... I'm probably not the easiest of male customers to satisfy but I left today with the biggest smile on my face! Frasier really made me feel comfortable before making a great job of my hair.. I'll defo be back.

extremely RUDE staff. First time going here and wouldn't go back unfortunately. They were not accommodating and did not care for customers needs. I've never been to a salon before and felt disrespected. The man was continuously rude and very unhelpful. The salon is in a disgusting street which is very difficult to find and very unsafe. I wouldn't go here if i was you!!!!

I am extremely disappointed by the customer service I received at LimeBlew, Ruthven Lane. I wanted blonde highlights and ended up with a ginger mess which had to be dyed a second time to attempt to rectify the mistake. Not only was the colour wrong but the dye job was terrible and my hair is now patchy. I was in the salon for over 6 hours and my hair was not even cut. The service was very poor, with excuses being made about the colour in my hair and the patches that had been dyed in. In the end my money had to be refunded as they did not attempt to fix my hair and overall the experience was dreadful, I cannot express my disappointment enough.

This is the BEST hairdresser I have EVER been to! I have very curly hair and Frasier actually knows how to cut and manage curly hair - I was absolutely amazed after my first visit as I have never experienced this at other hairdressers!  I have not been disappointed after repeat visits for cuts and colour - hope I never have to look for a new hairdresser.  If you haven't been yet then you need to go!

(updated on 4 February 2013 )

I have just had my hair done today. I love this hairdressers. I have booked a return appointment. This time for colour too! Frasier, the owner, is a lovely person. He is the only person in the shop just now. He has another chair which he will fill through time. However it is just a new place just now. I went due to a special offer. I have no doubt though that this will be my new place to go.

It’s just a small shop, but this allows individual attention. I sometimes feel intimidated in hairdressers, if they are too upmarket. However Lime Blew is a very nice place to go to, without feeling this way. It is in the trendy West End of Glasgow.

I would say it is something very different, as it is smaller. It is miles away, from the large impersonal places you tend to find. But, smaller allows a feel of being very special to Fraser. He will wash your hair, cut and blow dry. He does it all. The attention to detail is wonderful. I don’t want to go on and on, but it was so good, I had to let everyone else know too.

Well done, Fraser I wish you all the success you deserve. And, see you in seven weeks for my next appointment.

Maureenx

I'm not usually one for writing online reviews but I have finally found a hairdressers that I've fallen in love with!

I'm a bit of a hair snob and have had long relationships with Rita Rusk, Rainbow Rooms and Saks in the past.  After moving to the West End of Glasgow 18 months ago, I began my hunt for a local salon and after trying a few places, decided to give Lime Blew a try after purchasing a Groupon voucher - I've been hooked ever since.  Lime Blew is a small friendly salon, located just off Byres Road which is within walking distance of my home but is also really handy for the bus / tube.  The staff (Frasier and Jac) are always really friendly and have great banter with their clients and the service you receive is equal to that of the higher end salons in the City Centre.  From having my long hair cut into a shoulder length bob to dip-dyed ends to all over colour, I've never left Lime Blew disappointed, something which has happened with other places in the past.

My boyfriend, who used to be a £5 haircut from the local barbers kinda guy has also started visiting Lime Blew and is delighted with his new style - he's happy to pay a bit more because he knows he'll look good.  I also think he secretly loves a bit of pampering, especially the tingle shampoo that Frasier and Jac sometimes use but I don't think he'd admit to that!

I also recently had HD Brows done by Lauren who runs the beauty part of the salon and will definitely be making another appointment, love them!

I am disgusted at how I was treated with this salon. I bought a woucher voucher for a Brazilian blow dry. I made an appointment a few weeks ago for 9am this morning. I drove 20 miles to get there. Note there are no parking spaces anywhere!! I eventually found the salon, it's down a small lane, at 8.50am and waited to 9.30am in torrential rain. I had tried on more than several occasions to get someone via their telephone number and left several messages on the answering machine. I eventually gave up. I received a telephone call from Frasier about ten minutes later when I was back on the motorway returning home. Gave the excuse he'd lost his keys and had to go to his mum and dads. Lied and said he'd ran down to see if anyone was waiting and was extremely rude and obnoxious when I advised him no I didn't want to turn back around or make another appointment. Twice abruptly putting the phone down on me. I'm assuming the salon is advertising on various sites like woucher etc to bring in new clientele. This is not the way to do it!! I have been treated abysmally. I wouldn't recommend this salon to anyone.

Looks like a review of unfortunate circumstances, but seeing as you didn’t actually experience a treatment the review is pretty irrelevant on a site like this. Everyone has their bad days and it sounds like both you and the staff member were having one that day.

no i also found that the man was extremely rude when i went there, i’m afraid it seems like he’s just got a bitter and rude attitude. So paulamuir has actually wrote a fair comment in my eyes.

Frasier is a fantastic hairdresser, he makes you feel so at ease and his salon has a lovely tranquil feel, I have no hesitation recommending him, I will be sticking with him, my daughter is using him also. Christine
