Having discovered Simply Stained Glass via the internet, I got in touch with David and arranged for him to come round and assess the level of work needed, to bring a beautiful, though much neglected Edwardian stained glass porch back to glory.
I was immediately impressed by David’s knowledge of his craft, particularly his ability to identify past repairs, through the use of different types of glass.
As repairs to the porch were to form part of a much larger house renovation, David divided the work into sections, based on the urgency with which they needed addressing and how they logically fitted within ongoing building work.
I was given a quote and realistic timescale for each section, which left me feeling informed and able to decide how I would like to proceed.
Over the following year David and George tackled each section of the porch and were very true to the timescales. The end result is certainly a porch back to glory, though I doubt anyone would know, that any repairs have taken place, such was the attention to detail. Understandably, that is exactly what I wanted.
David and George were at all times, conscientious, polite and good fun. They have as a result become great friends of mine.

David designed and made a fabulous circular piece for my garden – diameter 80cm approx. Initially I went to David’s studio and we discussed colours of glass samples and possible artist references e.g. Paul Klee and then I left him to it and the result is stunning. It stands in a metal stand made by a blacksmith recommended by David and who echoed the lines of the glass design in the struts of the stand. As the sun moves different colours in the glass are picked out and even on a gloomy day the colours brighten up the garden. HIGHLY recommended.

David (Simply Stained) made us a beautiful stand alone window that we commissioned for our son’s first birthday. He really understood our concept despite it being a bit quirky, and he was so patient with us wanting to tweak the designs. The finished product is fantastic and my son points at it every time we walk past it going down the stairs. The best thing is it was very affordable. Our very own piece of art. Awesome.

Living in Jersey we had to do all our ordering by email but David was a pleasure to work with and gave patient, prompt and excellent advice on our screen and matching side panels for an antique door. Sample glass was mailed to us to help us choose colours and texture. Everything arrived superbly constructed and packed and we couldn’t be happier with the result.

An amazing studio, David (the owner) has lots of wonderful ideas and designed two fabulous stained glass windows for me. The range of glass available is endless and in every colour and finish. The quality of the finished product is outstanding and the end result was worth every penny. HIGHLY recommended.

A great place for original and replacement stained glass, either from the studio or onsite. It is fascinating to watch pieces under expert construction and I am delighted with the unique stained glass artwork I purchased. Highly recommended!
