Golden City

A better than average takeaway that delivers (either direct, or go looking for them using hungryhouse or similar) . The one time I’ve used them – mid evening on a Friday mind – delivery was prompt and courteous , with none of this “oh look, I have no change” nonsense so beloved of many delivery drivers in London. High points – very tasty crispy chilli chicken, and very good grilled pork dumplings with dipping sauce. The latter would be just perfect with a few cold beers to wash them down. Low points – sweet and sour pork balls (yes, I know, not necessarily the “gourmet choice”, but I have a weakness for them) weren’t very good, with the sort of batter I distinctly remember armouring school spam fritters c. 1981. Perhaps I was just very hungry, but portion sizes didn’t seem massive either, but I think that’s my monsterous appetite rather than an objective judgement.
