Nice. But a bit pricey. Friendly, relaxing atmosphere. Good service. Food is good – but feels mostly concocted rather than cooked. The lemon sea bass v good though.

Went there on new years eve and my brother-in-law’s birthday, great food, friendly staff, the only down side is its a small venue and you tend to feel crammed. But thoroughly enjoyed it and will return soon.

Review of The Old Siam from 13 May 2012

A great restaurant tucked away at the quiet end of Micklegate, but still within walking distance of the town centre. A very friendly atmosphere, The Old Siam serves a varied menu of authentic Thai dishes which are beautifuuly presented and graciously served. A good range of Thai beers helps to complement the spicier dishes. As well as the a-la-carte menu, there are set menus for those needing an introduction to the delights of Thai cuisine. Great food, good value., The Old Siam is well worth seeking out.
