Having previously failed to get a breakfast here on a Sunday (they don't take orders a sensible time in advance, only once the kitchen's actually up and running) it was already not faring well against the other Wetherspoon's in Edinburgh before the bored bouncers (in Corstorphine on a Thursday night too - were they expecting the pandas to escape and head over?) decided that the truthful answer to the question of where I'd been earlier in the night (the pub they saw me come out of across the road for 4 low-strength pints on a full stomach) was cause to refuse entry. Future custom when in the area therefore withheld so job well done.

More of a 3.5 star place than 4, but standard variety of wetherspoons food at reliable prices with quick service. Nice big place.

Only been in on an afternoon for some food.

The food was delivered promptly. My steak was tasty and cooked as requested (medium).

Both the bar staff and the girl serving our table were pleasant and attentive.

Great value for money and better than previous witherspoons places I’ve been to.

The White Lady is the latest Wetherspoon’s pub in the Scottish Capital. Situated out at Corstorphine on the way to the airport. The name refers to a past history of lust and passion! The White Lady in question being a relative of a lord of Corstorphine who lusted after her and seduced her before accidentally killing the girl with his sword in a fit of jealous rage!

The pub is excellent. Lots of interesting objects and a large variety of mixed chairs on which to sit. Mention should be made here of a lovely sculpture created by a North England sculptor retained to J D Wetherspoon’s. This depicts death and is lit from the inside – worth a visit to the pub for that alone!

Meals and drinks are the usual Wetherspoon fare. The White Lady is also a hotel.
