Quite simply the best watering hole in Bath. Stunning beer, knowledgeable staff, stunning pies and a sense of genuine enjoyment. Brilliant and central to boot.
A begloved Mark Lamarr quiffed assassin was obsessively cleaning the pumps when I entered the Raven.
I needed to order 2 drinks to calm my nerves. Raven + Raven gold were both very good beers. Nice little pub really, shame I couldn't dwell a while.
This is definitely one of my top 5 pubs in Bath. Great selection of ales and ciders, lovely food. Pleasant staff and very agreeable locals. All in all, a top find!
Another one of Bath's drinking jewels. Catering to those who enjoy real ale and good conversation. This pub is located over two floors with plenty of small tables for smaller groups. It's quite small inside, which means that it can be quite cosy during busier times, but the atmosphere is always very pleasant.
Pub has a nice olde worlde feel to it. Understood before its reincarantion as the Raven it used to be a bikers pub called the Hatchett. Fabulous selection of real ales including some brewed by the establishment i.e. Raven Gold. Food is good esp the home made pies which there are 8 varities too with a choice of three gravies to accompany. Always call in for a visit whenever I am down in the city of Bath.
RichardDeniro A lovely pub with good ales and friendly staff and regulars. A very good choice I think.

This pub has struck an excellent balance between the traditional and modern. A comfortable venue for an evening of slow sozzlement, it feels like an old local (which it is) but updated. Spearheading the real ale revival in Bath, the Raven also serves a vast range of pies with your choice of mash and gravy.
On weekends, getting a table can be a bit tricky but its well worth waiting. My tip: get in early and order a pie and a Raven Gold.
Fantastic and extremely popular watering hole in the center of Bath, the kind of pub which makes me wonder why I don’t live there.
A full selection of ales on tap, ciders, and sadly I didn’t try the mead.
I would give it 5 stars for the character and atmosphere, if only they’d have served us snakebites…!
Bath’s intelligentsia seemingly flock to this glorious little pub. From students to thinking locals, The Raven provides a well stocked library as well as a good selection of beers, and has the atmosphere of a totally chilled student bar that grew up.
Tastefully decorated (half with paint and half with bookshelves and reading group notices) The Raven also serves up some interesting beers on tap and Mead of all things - yes, we tried it, yes, it’s extremely sweet. The upstairs allows views of the centre of Bath and gives you some sophisticated perspective - expect to feel superior and contemplative.
We wish we’d had the chance to eat here as the pies looked incredible. Not sure if raven pie is on the menu but if it isn’t - it should be!
