Seen bands from The Lighthouse Family - UK Pink Floyd, most helpful staff, pricy drinks so get them from pub across the road, excellent venue well worth a visit

This building isn't showing off, but it isn't messing about. Understated elegance, subdued dominance, a fine centrepiece for a fine city.

There’s a good range of events going on at the City Hall and the prices aren’t too bad. The only thing to watch out for is the seating - if you’re late buying your tickets you’re likely to be up in the gods. The place has recently been renovated so it’s great for disabled access and the loos aren’t bad either. Parking is great as it’s in the city centre so you’ve got lots to choose from including underground car parks, multi-stories and on street.

Many visits tio this auditorium over the years history seeping from every brick can`t imaging the entertainment provided by this historic building over the years from Thin Lizzy in their heyday to Lee Evans and Paul Young .Far more personal and intimate than the arenas

I’ve only been to the club night on a Saturday night (Hotpants) but it’s always a great night. Mainly locals rather than students but it’s very friendly and a really good laugh. The music is usually 60s/70s pop and it’s a good mix. If I remember right it’s about £5-6 to get in.

I have been to a number of concerts here and like the venue. There isn’t much parkig nearby and unless you get there early for an event, you have to park quite a way away and walk.

The venue is just the right size to be able to get a good view even at the back of the hall. The sound also carries well in there unlike some bigger venues. They seem to attract quite a lot of bands, particularly older bands who can still attract a good crowd.

There are numerous bars in the city hall, all of which are quite expensive but no more so than other event venues. There are also icecream sellers. It’s also seems that you don’t have to queue for the loo for hours unlike at the bigger venues.

Located in the city centre this is a great venue with loads of events on each year, with some of the biggest names performing. The seats are comfy and the view is good nearly everywhere (though i think there are a few restricte view seats).
The City hall also hosts the club night 'hot pants’ every saturday which involves a variety of offers on drinks, though i’ve not been.

A really great venue in the centre of Sheffield. Has plenty of famous acts on stage and as it only seats around 2000 people, it offers a more cosy atmosphere. On Saturday nighhts it is home to the famous 'hot pants’ with the light up dance floor and plenty of cheesy 70’s music.

I love the city hall! Its great on a saturday night for hot pants - lots of 70s cheese, they even have a little fancy dress stall on the way in! They do lovely cocktails at £5, much better than youd expect - even get a free glow stick, what more could you want! The main auditorium often holds concerts, 'm seeing will young there next week! iTs a lovely venue, very intimate, and a nice bar for pre drinks.

This is a good venue for a different night out. The night club has a relaxed and firnedly atmosphere, and it is airy due to the high ceilings. Even when busy this place feels uncrowded, but not in a bad way. The music is retro, and really enjoyable.

Its crowning glory is the 70s disco dance floor which adds some real flare to a night out. I find the clientelle in here fun and chilled out with a wide age range.

The toilets are clean and well kept, and the bouncers are as friendly as bouncers ever get!

This is a great venue; it’s so versatile from seeing comedians to bands to night club.

The building went through a multi million pound refurbishment, this included the installation of customer lifts, and customers no longer have to climb the stairs to get to the balcony.

The bars have improved slightly but the prices are still expensive but that’s due to it being owned by SIV (non of their venues have had reasonable prices on bars). The interior looks great and the new seats are much more comfy then before.

The ballroom still has the light up dance floor and they have still kept the hot pants night club. The bar has been moved from the music to where the food bar used to, but where the bar originally used to be when the place first opened. This improves ability to get to the bar to get a drink.

The name says is all its cheesy disco music.

Most times I have been to this venue I have enjoyed it and the facilities have now been improved making it much better.

The main problem is that they don’t advertise well and have to check regularly to find out who is coming.

On a recent visit to Sheffield I ended up being taken to a Night Club located in Sheffield Town Hall. Although this was a little bit surreal at first I soon got into the swing of things and realised what a great use of the council building it was.

I went on a Saturday night and the theme was DI*SC*O and the name of the night I believe was 'Hot Pants’ - don’t let it put you off, although I do believe there were a few partygoers that took the name quite literally ;-)

Having grabbed a drink from the long bar surrounded by very ornate towering pillars I peered through the glass windows in some very large doors. What waited on the otherside appeared to be a mixture of an old school disco and someone’s wedding!!! But I do not say that in a bad way, on the contrary it was a fantastic atmosphere and made a pleasant change from the standard clubs of today.

Sights inside included people fully kitted out in the 80’s disco dancewear, a couple of podium style dancers and an ageing DJ left over from the original disco era - but boy could he bop!!! Leaving his turntables mid song to come and excite the crowd with his array of YMCA moves and kung fu kicks.

I had an excellent night here in what proved to be a very laid back and friendly atmosphere - definitely recommended.

An excellent venue located in the middle of Sheffield city centre. The city hall underwent major rennovations a few years ago, and the results are excellent!

The City Hall is an excellent building and hosts a variety of events.

My favourite non alcohol related one would of course by my graduation, but have to been to different events there too and loved Hot Pants downstairs.

It makes an excellent host and the views from the balacony in the concert hall are great.

Don’t hesitate, just go!
