went here a while ago on a friday as missus is a Cliff Richard fan & there was a Cliff & The Shadows Tribute band on. £7.50 each to get in but drinks were quite reasonable. Being on the way to 50 I thought we would be out of place but were surprised to see that most people were between 30 & 50.
Good service from the staff, good toliets, the band were brilliant & we visited again when The Beach Boys tribute was on . These were also very good. I thought it unusual for these acts to be fully "live" as almost all tribute acts are just karaoke singers with backing tracks. Being live it was so much better. got some good brownie points from the missus for taking her here. Waiting for this Cliff band to appear here again - we'll be there.

just because a singer sings with backing tracks, why are we refered to as Karaoke Singers?? A karaoke is totally different? A lot of the so called singers you refer to are professional full time singers/entertainers, some have studied music, had vocal tuition & coaching for years. Have other strings to their bow in music, the night before they may have sung in front of thousands of people with a live band, appeared in a tv show, a theatre?? etc.

The reason 'we' tend to sing to backing tracks, which may I add are not always karaoke tracks. They are prpfessionally made tracks for a purpose, some of which may I add can cost up to £250 to produce, are a much higher quality standard than 'Karaoke Trax'. There are companies out there that do this all the time for us professional singers. there are no sing along lyrics, we know our lyrics beccause we are professional singers trying to earn a living. I personally work this way because am not in a live band, I would love to be, but bands have to split the money so much between all the members, that its not worth doing it for me. I have no day job and as my job is as a singer only I cannot afford to do this, and most venues cannot afford to pay for totally live bands, esecially of a superb high standard of musicians that the public would expect.?? Some do. but rearely? You wold have to be going to the 02 Arena, etc. or see a live band that are happy to accept the monies venues can afford to pay.?

also the public are very fussy, and a tribute inorder to re produce the sound expected vy the audience, it is very hard to do this live, unless as I say you are a superb musician, and happy to work for little money or the venue can afford such.

so we use professional backing tracks to keep everyone happy!!! And still you complain???

I get very insulted when people refer to us singers as Karaoke?? I agree that some are better than others, and sometimes I am 'gobsmacked' bu some of the acts. But hey each to his own?

Not anyone can just 'Sing', entertain, itys a very hard job, we have to take such critism, we work hard to make people happy, we lose our own social ife, relationships, family life.. but we choose to as we love what we do, and love music and love to make you all happy!! As a bonus get paid!!

So I suggest next time, you go to a karaoke night, and see the difference, most of the time they cannot sing, they have key changes, they have to have a screen of lyrics to promt them..... if you are not happy with the tributes why dont you go see the real thing???
sorry but I think its unfiar and naive to say what you said??

Also most of us pro singers, sing for over 2 hours non stop at a time, which on average would be 40 songs??? We know all the lyrics to all those 40 songs, some do dance routines alongside. We do our best to get everyone to dance, entertain etc. We have costumes made which cost a fortune too, we advertise, we pay for all out marketing and publicity etc.... Us prfessional singers deserve some more respect!! We are not karaoke... BIG difference. !!!

I went here recently on a Friday night and couldn’t believe they charged us £7.50 to get in - I thought they should have been paying us! This is because it’s not the coolest place in town but it is fun.

We arrived at about 10.30pm and there was a band on stage, just finishing their set. There is a cloakroom to leave your coat for a small charge if you wish to.

About 11pm a DJ comes on and plays a mixture of cheesy dance and pop music. The dance floor usually gets pretty packed at a weekend but the real let down about this place is that they close at 1am, just when you’re starting to get going.

The prices of the drinks are reasonable, the loos seemed ok and fairly clean - the bar staff were friendly and there weren’t great long queues to be served.

This club caters for the over 30 age group, and often has tribute bands on a Saturday night.

I think you will find that the bands starts playing at 10.30pm! Friday nights is a def. over 30 disco.
Saturday nights is a cabaret restaurant for any age! never has bands always cabaret acts. e.g Dirty Dancing, Rod Stewart, Tina Turner etc.
I must agree that the staff are friendly and the place is run well.

When we went there recently the band came off stage about 11pm and the disco started and went on for a couple of hours.

Excellent value for money - Saturday restaurant cabaret night. Safe havern in Sidcup! Friendly staff, good service,
good food, tribute acts are brilliant. Where else can you go for £24.00 and make a full night of it?

I’ve only been here once, it was a very interesting night though. When we turned up we weren’t sure what to expect, from outside it looks like there’s always a disco going on here, and we’d started off badly by not all wearing shoes. There is a dress code, but the bouncer actually let us through anyway. It was a friday night and we were greeted by a Queen tribute band after paying our £7.50 (rather steep for sidcup!).

Now, being 24 myself I was a little surprised to be the youngest in here, but it turns out by a considerable margin. The average clientele in here was I would say between 30 and 50, and though we had a good time we did feel a bit out of place.

I’d recommend this generally for people over 30, those under will be better off just across the road at the metro bar.
