The Motor Museum is fantastic. I hadn’t been before when we took our four year old son. We all enjoyed it. There is the main exhibition where you can see old cars including Brum of course! Then there are seven more rooms with different exhibitions. Near the end of the museum there is a small area where children can play with toys and have a go on a Brum ride (for a small charge of 30p for one ride).
The museum has the cheapest entry price of the main attractions in Bourton and I think it is certainly the best value. I think it was around £7 altogether for myself, my partner and our son.
This is a great little museum situated in the village of Bourton. The museum is packed with old vehicles and memorabilia, along with some brilliant old toys, and of course the big draw for the kids is that it is the home of Brum, a popular childrens TV character for what must be 20 years now (I remember him as a child). There are few 'activities’ that many children today seem to expect, but there are often little quizzes or treasure hunt type challenges as you go around, which helps to keep the kids occupied if they start to flag. Wheelchair and buggy access is good all round, there is a good shop, and the staff are all helpful and informative, and at less than £12 for a family ticket, it is a great place to visit if you’re in town.

Although the main focus is on motoring the museum has a toy collection which includes teddy bears, aeroplanes and rare pedal cars. Also it’s home to Brum a little yellow car from the childrens tv show which was filmed here. There’s no parking on site but there are pay and display car parks and some disabled bays onstreet nearby. Quaint little place well worth a look if you’re passing some great vehicles inside.
