Review of The Beacon Museum and Harbour Gallery from 16 January 2009

This museums and gallery is set on Whitehaven harbour. The harbour has recently been renovated and is a great tourist attraction in itself. Set to one side of the harbour is the Beacon. It is like a mini lighthous and inside the views across the sea are great on a clear day.

The museum tells the history of Whitehaven including an explanation of the harbours history and a look at the importance that mining once had in the town.

There is also a cafe on site.
