Lovely little bar!! Just spent my NYE night there and it couldn’t have been better. The drinks were very reasonable…the people were very friendly and the staff were all a joy to buy drinks from.
I’ve been there on many other occasions and have always had a good night out with friends. The decoration is certainly different to most bars you attend these days. It has an old and mysterious feel to it; with lots of old pictures and posters. If your passing by then pop in and take a peak at this very interesting bar.
A place to worm.
Standard dance tunes, fun decor with everything with a 'tashe and a big map in which I marked my home town. A short but fun night was had here some time ago.
It doesn't get busy until late - so head here between 11.30-12.30 to avoid the queue, but have company on the dancefloor!
This place seems to have quiet sporadic opening hours. It closed down for a few months but now seems to be open at weekends.
I don't think you ever know what will be happening when you go downstairs. It doesn't get busy really till after 12 so there's slightly awkward mix of people standing on the outskirts of the dancefloor but I enjoyed it before going onto the Jazz Bar.
The walls are decorated in photos of people with moustaches drawn on and it's got quite a low ceiling. It reminded me a little of the old Ghetto. Drinks are slightly on the cheaper side of average (vodka + mixer £3). I guess normal music is disco / house / techno
Yeah - great little place. But getting a bit too trendy now. And ALWAYS crowded
Young crowd of wannabees drinking expensive bottled beer in a packed basement.. the place lacks style, soul, know-how. Good as a last resort drinking hole if you are about late on Kingsland high street.
This is one of only really two night clubs in Stoke Newington. When I stumbled in here last Saturday night it was aboloutely packed. It was a young hip crowd dancing to loud well mixed pop infused Drum and Base.
This place is very gay friendly - if not actually a gay bar. There were quite a few male couples getting intimate without anyone raising an eyebrow. basicly it’s a single roomed basement with a couple of lounges and a long bar at one end.
The cool addtion though is the smoking section - which is a little room up some stairs at the back. It has kind of a circle of bench chairs which makes a great place to meet people.
This is a great little bar, just tucked in between Dalston and Stoke Newington.
Located next to a barbers and a great kebab shop, the door is tucked between the two with a chandelier of bowler and top hats!
The inside is decorated in a mess of old photos and paraphernalia from a bygone era, each image with its own drawn moustache.
Drinks are cheap and seats comfortable and the staff are really friendly too.
A good night for all.
place is ok musoic could be better but hey its dancable..
