The boss is a complete ignorant fool. I went with a friend and got accused of all sorts because i happened to be in the bathroom with someone doing wrong, took me an hour or so to get my coat back as they refused to co-operate and kicked me out for being in the bathroom and not telling the bouncer first time round that someone was having sex (sorry i wasn't peering over the cubicle wall!). I will never go here again, the man running this club in reading is a genuinely horrible human being, and i have never felt so belittled and judged my whole life. He is honestly a complete and utter (i never say this word) c**t!

Q Club has definitely changed over the past year, used to be chavvy with a fair few fights and mostly 18 year olds in the club. However I have been to Q Club for the past few weekends now on Saturday nights and the crowd has definitely improved. Well dressed guys and girls of mixed ages now 18-25 all there to have a good time. No fights or trouble has been witnessed by myself. The DJ's are very in tune with the crowd and the main room has been playing fantastic sets of all the latest stuff mixed up with some great dance anthems.
I would recommend this club to anyone on a night out now and will most definitely be enquiring about their VIP Packages for my birthday later this year.

Do not go to this club. Very bad experience with the bouncers as they don't care if there are three of them and one of you; my cousin was asked to leave, and when trying to get  a reason why, he was restrained by two bouncers while another came and punched him three times in the stomach. This subdued him (obviously) and the third bouncer then 'smashed' my cousins head against a wall, breaking his nose. He was then pushed out onto the floor and told that if he comes back they will 'break his arms and legs'. Understandable if they want you out of the club, but they should always give  a reason and not beat him in this disgusting way. Even when you're entering the club, they will scrutinize your ID, and make you feel as if you have done something wrong, when you've done nothing. Not a good atmosphere, if you're going out in Reading go to Lola Lo, Rewind or Dogma instead.

Door staff are rude, which is a shame as its not too bad inside, but the atmosphere on the door really brings the place down.

Have to say it actually has finally got better! Having been a regular at the same spot since the Square, Ice Bar, Q Bar and now Q club, the new management are finally a little more selective on who they let in, so expect chavvy baad-man groups to be turned away, regular promotions, the music DJ's are generally quite good and its excellent for meeting new people.

A word of warning, at least try and dress respectably especially on a Saturday night because your asking to be turned away in trainers and ripped jeans and also don't bring an attitude with you either, because they are now being more picky than they used to.

Q bar is an amazing club with a great atmosphere and general feel. It is normally very busy due to the big student following from both reading university and Thames Valley University. I attended their Halloween and was even treated to VIP treatment with a separate bar and seating area upstairs. Their drinks were quite reasonable and there is also a cloakroom so you don’t lose your coat half-way through the night. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience, and I would defiantly return their and recommend the place to my friends. However I wouldn’t recommend it to people who don’t like clubs that are busy and prefer quieter more intimate places.
