I have been going to Fresh Asia for a while now, but not being Asian (thought that this shop 'was not for me' how short sighted I was) and a vegetarian I often struggle to get items locally, until I discovered Fresh Asia. People say that it is small, well yes it is, but boy do they have a fantastic and extensive array of items on offer. I love going in and meeting the fantastic diversity of people (always polite when squeezing past them, unlike Tesco), and coming out with some new item that I have never tried before. If you have never been, all I have to say is - go and pay them a visit, you will never look back.
My favourite place in Beeston. There’s ramen there, good ramen aswell. Proper Pocky, none of this Europian Mikado buisness. Pocky is where home is.

A treasure trove of the kind you never expect to find in the provinces . They have products here that I used to have to go to the Japan Centre in London to find . Black and white yam cake , shirataki noodles , calpis – a fantastic freezer section … You could spend all day and a small fortune in here and still leave wanting more . The only drawback is the size , the shop is tiny and if you don’t have it to yourself its difficult to move around . Happily it isn’t usually very busy .
