5 reviews of Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre and Country Park in English
Lovely walks and learning a bit about local history is a bonus. Visitor centre is excellent. Barn makes for a great location for a party.
This is a great place. It feels like it’s in the middle of nowhere but there are quite a few things about. We parked at Shenton Station which is between 10 and 20 minutes walk from the Heritage Centre itself, depending which one of the signposted walks you take. By car, it’s about 2 minutes away from the Battefield car park.
The Heritage Centre cost us (2 adults and 2 children) £15 to get in which I think is very reasonable when the ticket allows unlimited access for the day. We went round twice. It’s full of information and history, great for the kids. There are quizzes for them to do, armour to try on and at the end there is an investigation lab.
There are regular events on the site which are usually seperately priced. There are train rides and boat rides not far from the Battlefield. Trains travel between Shenton and Shackerstone while the boats travel along the Ashby canal to and from Shenton Wharf.
It’s a great day out whatever you do although most of it’s best in good weather!

this place is absolutely fab! the kids love it, i love it and even my mothers dog loved it!
its a brilliant wide open space, plenty of places ot have a private picnic and then you can walk around afterwards and see other things they have to offer.
my fiance also took the kids on the train ride that ran nearby.

Set in the countryside, the site really invites you for a walk across the fields. You will follow a route staged with information posts that highlight the different stages of the battle, the significance of the event etc. I would recommend you only consider it if the weather is good.
Free parking , no entrance fee.
