You must work for them, because every body else seem to disagree. They are over priced and the food is nothing special!!!! These people do NOT deserve to be in business!

Here they recommended 4-5 items for a couple, so given there are only about 7 things on the menu that doesn't leave much in the way of choice. The portions are small. For dinner you would want more than this.
Salad at £4.20 was just green lettuce. The balsamic / lemon dressing was nice, but come on.
The biggest con was a broth at £7. Literally just hot water with about 5 shavings of courgette. We refused to pay for this (see picture attached). I can only remember sending things back twice before in my life, this just wound me up.
Bread was fresh, but just plain bread nothing exciting. Oil was of good quality.
The one nice dish we had was lamb and aubergine. This was genuinly good food, but again the price was £11.50 which is closer to the price of a main dish.
The tortilla was also pretty nice, but it was nothing too clever.
It had a nice interior and the whole selling furniture idea gave it a nice feel when you first went in (but at £75 for a second hand chair I can't see too much of this stuff getting shifted).
In summary, I won't be going back. Too many better places in the area charging a lot less.

We go back to Trangallan time and time again and always leave happy. The cooking is top notch, all the ingredients are of the highest quality and a lot of work goes into the preparation of each dish. It’s not cheap, food of this standard isn’t, but if you appreciate quality over quantity, this is the place for you. There are some interesting and unusual wines and a fine sherry selection and the staff are very friendly and go out of their way to make sure you have a lovely time.

Heard mixed reviews but was still keen to try out. The restaurant is quite quirky with all of the fixtures and fittings on sale (if you like them). Our waiter was friendly although his English was limited. The food is quite unusual but extremely tasty. The portions are small but I was aware of this before I came and made sure to order extra starters! This did make it quite pricey but Trangallan is a unique dining experience and one definitely worth checking out!

I live on Newington Green and saw Trangallan open. Always busy, I decided to take a friend there for dinner. Lovely space, lovely staff. Bland and very over priced food. Extremely small portions. It’s like everything is tester size. I spent £70 and left the restaurant feeling HUNGRY and RIPED OFF! Will they see me again? Definitely not!

We were excited to go to the new restaurant on newington green but left hungry and disappointed. We chose 5 different tapas off the menu only to be told 3 of them were off. That didn’t matter so much as there were lots of other delicious sounding dishes. However the portions were very small, we ordered 5 dishes and bread between two and found all to be very small. Most disappointing for us was the 9.50 chicken stew which consisted of 2 very small chicken wings and a small potato. The staff were lovely as was the atmosphere but we left feeling out of pocket and hungry and I’m currently heating up a massive portion of apple pie at home to fill the hole!

I have never seen such tiny little portions and so overpriced considering the size (£7). Table was tiny as well. We were still starving after spending £30 so we went to the Italian and had a calzone pizza to share and a large glass of red, a pastry and an expresso for about £20. Disappointing. Its not Mayfair.

Lovely place, beautifully designed, great service and most importantly excellent food. And the wine selection is also fantastic. Go and check it out!

This is some of the best tapas I have ever eaten! We spent a good few hours here, ordering a couple of dishes at a time, and sharing each dish.
The highlights for me were pork cheek (succulent meat and crispy skin) with thyme and prunes, grilled squid, Almond soup and home tinned sardines, and some AMAZING potatoes with caramelised onions and raw egg.
The service was a bit slow at times, but I think they are still getting over a few teething issues after recently opening. A meal for 4 people including 2 bottles of Rioja, a couple of beers and service came to £130. Highly recommended!
