Fantastic landmark, a must see when in Plymouth. The citadel is over looking Plymouth sound offering a great panorama. Possibly the best vantage point for watching the national fireworks competition. Built to defend the coast line from the Dutch this fort was also used to keep Plymouth in check

The Citadel stands proudly overlooking Plymouth Sound. The views from it are amazing, you can see Rame, Mount Edgcumbe, Jennycliff and Drake’s Island. I went to a forces wedding here and it was incredible. The photos were simply stunning.
