Probably the best zoo I've ever been too. Good range of animals. Regular feeding/talks throughout the day meant we stayed the entire day.
The bird display was amazing - having the falcon and barrel owls flying over our heads! Awesome photos!
On the day, booked Giraffe feeding for two. The Giraffe enclosure is impressive and for £7.50 each, we were able to feed them from a special pier!! Awesome value for money!
Food was ok - chilli and chips was fine, with my wife saying the chips were the best she's tasted.
Going to recommend to all my friends.

Review of Banham Zoo from 30 August 2010

We thorougly enjoyed our visit to this zoo. We thought that nearly all the enclosures were very generous in size compared to a lot of other zoos, and the animals looked very well looked after and none were pacing around.

We didn't go to see any of the feeding times that are paced throughout the day, but we went to the animal show at 12:30 which was great fun and informative, everyone old and young seemed to enjoy it.

The zoo is quite spacious and pleasant to walk around, although it is a bit hard to plan a route to see everything, you find you have to backtrack a bit. Most zoos have this problem, I would like to see a highlighted route that you can follow which takes in everything so you can just walk without too much map reading.

The eateries were fairly standard for such a zoo, my only gripe with the hotdog I had was that there was no onion.

As someone who enjoys photography, I appreciated lots of animals that didn't have chain link fences and grubby glass getting in the way, some of the shots I got of the Meercats were wonderful.

While we don't have kids, we could see that this zoo is very family friendly.

Highly recommended.

Lovely for a sunny day out, this zoo has a wide selection of animals.

There is plenty of free carparking (and a carboot there on a sunday), a free road train tour, food outlets and open spaces.

Perfect for a family day out!

This a a great day out for all the family and at a reasonable price. There is a good selection of animals and it is easy to spend the whole day here without getting bored. There are serveral picnic areas located close to the play grounds.

Banham zoo has a huge free car park next to the entrance with areas to picnic in. The entrance clean and has a gift shop as part of it. There is also a re-entry facility so you can pop to and fro to the car and get let back in again. The zoo itelsef is packed full of animals, including some superb big cats, monkey houses and a sloth. There are displays, feeding sessions, education points, and plenty of lavatories, picnic areas, wash stations all around the park. There are plenty of indoor elements too and a lovely penguin area. There is a smaller animals area with animals you can feed safely. There are eating facilities at the zoo, a lovely adventure playground and also a road train with a commentary included. It is a super palce to spend any amount fo time you have to spare. There is a heavy horse section too with a museum elemnt about rural life in times gone by. It’s worth spending the day as entrance is not cheap. However it is all on the flat and is very buggy/wheelchair friendly.
