Park Hyatt Hamburg

The restaurant "Apples" offers the best lunch downtown - if you can find it :-) Located in the Hyatt, a bit hidden, but there you will always find helpful service. Greatly prepared in the open kitchen, tastes good and one sits very well. Service is very attentive, if necessary, the waiters should ask each other if they have already asked the guests 30 seconds ago if everything was alright. Let's not be petty, it is great fun to spend lunch time here. 2-course menu costs 29 € including water, optically expensive, but probably adequate. Upgrading to a three-course or a much better main course (up to 10 € more) is possible.

Being a native Hamburger it's extremely rare for me to stay in a Hamburg hotel - not to say - never. Therefore I cannot say much about the Hyatt Hotel. I haven't tested the restaurant yet. But now about the things I can say something about: Three minutes walking distance from the central station, in the Levante-house in the Mönckebergstrasse, the Hyatt is a wonderful meeting point if you have business people in town. Past the concierges on the ground floor up to the second level, turn left along the wide corridor, past the reception you will find a nice café at the end. Here you have suites of furniture (armchairs, sofas) to sit together comfortably but there are also tables at the windows where you can sit a bit more seclusively. At the start, the service is attentive but after that decreases quite a bit. I can recommend the various choices of coffee from numerous countries. All in all an acceptable, centrally located meeting point which also allows for more intimate conversations.

11.2.07: It is a Sunday afternoon. Ice has covered the city. "What can we do on a cold Sunday afternoon?" I asked Susanna. "Sitting in front of a fireplace and drink coffee." Good idea. I know three open fireplaces which are located in the cafés of the 5-star hotels of Hamburg: Atlantic, Vier Jahreszeiten and Hyatt. We went into the Hyatt. The fireplace was not fired and the buffet closed at 5.30pm. We are disappointed. The service is nice and tries to serve us well but somehow also disinterested. Next time we will test the bar.

Very nice hotel in a unique city-centre location. The service was really perfect and the rooms spacious with classically modern furnishings. The bar area with the open fire also has a lot of style. The perfect place to stay during a visit to Hamburg. Five-stars for a 'five-star' hotel. Really great!

It is one of the very beautiful hotels of Hambourg. However I was a bit disappointed with what I read about this hotel. It is actually well located and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. I can't comment on the quality of the spa and the pool (I didn't have the time). But I think that it could do with some refurbishment works. For instance I was surprised by the dullness of the bar. And the Internet is not free, what a joke! overall an excellent hotel but not the best.

Fantastic hotel, well recommended for Hamburg business travellers.

A perl of Hamburg's city centre! Only last weekend I had guests again who stayed at the Hyatt. Their result: wonderful! My guests stay in different hotels worldwide nearly weekly and said that they never experienced such an attentive service anywhere. Absolutely courteous, helpful and child friendly - despite luxury class (yes, at times this is an oxymoron). My cooperation with the Concierge of the house was also absolutely great. A hotel which I certainly like to recommend to my guests!

This is my favourite hotel, not just in Hamburg but anywhere. This hotel seems mainly to attract business travellers but it’s a fantastic base for anyone as it’s located very close to the train station and shopping areas. From the extremely friendly staff that are more than happy to put up with a drunken girl who is unable to figure out the swipe card system at 5am to the beautiful rooms (especially the marble bathrooms) and turn down service, it’s always a pleasure to stay here.

I’ve never eaten in the restaurant but I have had breakfast delivered to my room. Be warned, they are very generous with portions so don’t make the mistake I did of ordering a cooked breakfast with two styles of eggs, along with breads, cheeses, meats and pretty much all that they offered. It would have fed 4 people and the 34 Euro bill came as quite a shock!

This hotel is by no means cheap but I believe it to be worth every penny and wouldn’t stay anywhere else when visiting Hamburg. The staff and service make it extra special. I find the attitude they have towards their guests is more in line with a small friendly guest house than that of a large hotel.

The main things of the Park Hyatt (great breakfast buffet, pleasant service, room amenities, bar, restaurant etc) have already been described. Also the location has been mentioned but I have to mention one additional aspect. As a jogger it's fantastic to have a short distance only to your running path in Hamburg called Außenalster. To jog around the Outer- and Inneralster on a frosty Sunday morning is out of this world. Jogger's heart - what else could you ask for? The incredible breakfast buffet can be enjoyed much more relaxed afterwards.

As part of our 'prolonged weekend trips' we have been to the Park Hyatt often and are surprised time and again: wonderfully stylish rooms, big bathrooms, a marvellous spa area, friendly service personnel and a hard-to-beat breakfast offer. If Hamburg, then only in the Park Hyatt!!

My 5 stars are referring mainly to the breakfast buffet which couldn't have been more copious and high in quality. A truly beautiful hotel of the Hyatt chain with attentive personnel, successful decor, cosy roms with big, luxurious bathroom, wellness spa and perfect location directly in the pedestrian zone. But as mentioned: It's the best breakfast I have ever seen. Price for the brakfast, which is on Saturdays and Sundays from 07:30 until 14:00 o'clock: 30 €!!!

My favourite hotel in Hamburg! Frequent oasis for a bit of wellness, tasty food and a night followed by a sensational breakfast buffet. Although I'm from Hamburg, an overnight stay here is always very relaxing (the late Sunday checkout up to 6pm and a late riser breakfast until 2pm surely contribute). It's a pity that the hotel is very expensive but even here they all know their trade.

Fantastic place for a business lunch. Lunch menue with two main courses for 29 Euro, with excellent quality. If you - like me - sometimes shy away from hotel restaurants: here you have no reason to.

This year, the Apples is promoted via the Hamburger Schlemmersommers below its value. The impressive open show-kitchen normally produces innovative, first-class dishes. All the more disappointing were, in particular, the main dishes of the Schlemmersommer menu. You may choose between various potatoe sides and salads with your beef fillet, veal cutlet or salmon steak but unfortunately there is no sauce with that - even though the meat and fish were very good - very much like in the Steak-House. Particularly good though was the specially created cocktail offered beforehand, as well as the water which was included in the price of 59,- EUR, the gazpacho for starters and great service. All in all - Apples, you can do better!

Unbeatably the best breakfast buffet in Hamburg. Unfortunately not really cheap at 25 Euro. As a member of the "Hyatt Gourmet Club" one only pays half the price for food for each additional guest. "APPLES" is the name of Hyatt's restaurant. Outstanding cuisine and very good choice of wine. Although rather more suitable for business meals and less for private groups. You sit wonderfully in the room with a fireplace to meet cosily for tea or cakes. Club Olympus in the basement is the wellness area. Great design, pleasantly quiet but unfortunately no windows. The service in the Hyatt is friendly, fast and to the 't' like nowhere else in Hamburg's hotels. One can perceive the American service school. They offer cooking classes in the design kitchen on Saturday afternoons. Attendance fee, with 175 Euro, is unfortunately a bit high.
