In the 29 years since it’s launch in 1982, Combers has become the largest single salon in the area and along the way has developed a first class reputation.
At the onset, the salon set out to become the client’s first choice, the staff’s first choice and the number one salon in Taunton. All these years later, owner Simon Willetts is happy he has achieved these aims, but recognises there is much more that could be done – and will be done to develop Combers even further.
The salon’s underlining ethos is to design your hair to work for you every day. Your hair speaks for you. So often how you look determines how you feel and how others respond to you. Whether that is right or not doesn’t matter, it’s a fact and alongside your clothes, your makeup and your accessories, hair is part of the overall equation.
Each one of us is different and Combers believes it is important to make sure each client’s personal needs and desires are properly evaluated so the chosen style works for them every day. Professional recommendations are given on which cosmetics and equipment to use and how to use them because hair that looks touchable is attractive.
For the 30 staff at Combers, a compliment paid by a client is a compliment to the salon – and the best compliment of all is for a satisfied customer to recommend their friends to come along too.

It was Laura who coloured my hair and another girl who cut it – I’ve forgotten her name but she had ombre bobbed hair. Both did an excellent job and others were involved too and advised (as I think what I wanted was a bit tricky as it had red on it before and I didn’t want too warm a blonde). I really appreciated the time and the expertise. I’ve been to a lot of salons in Taunton but this is the best colour and cut I’ve had and I will definitely be coming back. Many thanks,
