Good location and Lovely decor... But dirty with lots of flies around. There was a huge amount of floor staff on - 9 I counted all stood around the bar area chatting at one point - yet we had to go and ask for our plates to be cleared and order coffees. The food was good but portions EXTREMLEY small. Bar prices very expensive but of course the majority are In city centre york. If management are reading this you really need to work on your service to take this place up a notch. Would eat here again as the location is great but not in a hurry too as there are other riverside restaurants in york providing a better service than you guys are.

Lovely decor, tasty food, but pretty slow service - all the bar staff were doing one coffee order while the rest of us waiting were completely ignored. Just a nod and a 'won't be a minute' acknowledgement is all that's needed!

I wasn't sure what to expect when I visited here as I'm not one for chain type establishments, but to be honest I was pleasantly pleased with the outcome.

This place is a great location just off the shopping area and is situated right by the river Ouse, it also has an outside eating and drinking area overlooking the river and pleasure boats tootling up and down.

Beers offered where mainly Lagers but they did have one bitter on sale Bombardier I think it was but it was a good pint and I enjoyed it enough to have another.

The food we opted for was Fried Haloumi salad chosen by my partner and a Lamb and Rosemary Burger for me which I must say was very nice and I wouldn't be averse to visiting here again. The staff where also very pleasant and cheerful.

Another of York’s river-side chains, Pitcher and Piano is very comfortable. It has two bars, which reduces queuing times somewhat, though it does get very busy.

I wouldn’t recommend using it for events though; I had a party here and the staff refused to return my deposit, claiming someone else had already picked it up. I got it back eventually but wasn’t at all impressed.
