I think that its a bit silly to read reviews about a salon and then report them to trading standards and you have never even tried the salon!!! it seems that everyone who has had something bad to say has been someone who has bought a very cheap voucher and as per usual wants everything for nothing! Maybe all the cheap people on here should stick to budget salons or simply doing it yourself! I bought a KGB voucher and was very happy with my half head highlights and restyle! I had to wait 3 weeks for an appointment but to be honest I figured that would be the case as it is a first come first serve basis. It also says in the fine print of the voucher ‘subject to availability’! Anyways the long and short of it is Jennifer, you shouldnt comment as you have not even had a service done at the establishment! Go read a book or something ad stop being a sad cow!

Hi was this on gloucester road? thanks
I had got a full head highlights with cut and moroccan oil treatment voucher through KGB. Now I am always weary of such things as it was a great value, but little did I realise what I'd be getting for my money. Salon seems pretty nice but from start to finish the service was abominable.
The girl that was serving me was young and didn't seem too enamored to be actually working there. I explained to her what I wanted and the colour touch up that I wanted, ensuring that I wouldn't end up with the streaks that one of the others reviewers mentioned. The girl then asked me what were the number of colours I had in before, the percentage of bleach - now I'm not in the habit of asking these details from my hairdresser - I assume that they know! So I was a little shocked when she said that she'd have a go at trying to mix the right colours!! Imagine...'have a go' being said and you thinking you're in a professional salon.
She proceeded to hack at my hair dividing it up, there certainly didn't seem to be many foils put in, but I assumed she knew what she was doing. She then left me for about an hour. The manager during this time was giving out about a salon across the road and about how they are competing for the same clientele, which I thought was rude. Then the manager said she was off to pick up her kids and would my stylist complete the girls hair beside me. She said ok, was very nervous. The client beside me had afro hair and the stylist then proceeded to tell her she wasn't trained in afro hair, had never done any and she'd had to advise her on what to do. So basically the client had to explain to the stylist step by step what to do to keep her hair in check. She was about to leave it looking in a right state, when the client said that it needed more work and straightening. The stylist just kept saying 'do you have to do this every time you wash your hair? - that's mad'.
Anyway after finishing with her, she brought me up to the sink, ripped the foils out of my hair, tears running down my face, telling her to go easy, she said that it was cos my hair was so long. (i've had my hair done every 3 months for the last 10 years and never have I cried in the chair when they've taken out the foils). She put the moroccan oil treatment on, and i waited 15 mins. I went back to the chair and my hair was really knotty, no conditioner was put in my hair or detangler, and she was trying to brush it with a comb...that wasn't going to happen. The hair was nearly being ripped out of my head. She then said could I just comb it out, as it's just too hard...I took the brush and did it, with ease! SHe asked if I wanted a cut, I said yes, just a trim but I have layers, so across all my hair. She found it difficult to divide up my hair, so must be extremely inexperieced as that's a basic skill! She then just gave up, brushed all my hair to my back, took the scissors and cut straight across! Not exactly what you'd expect from a professional hair salon!
Then she started drying my hair with her fingers, flicking it here and there, and I'm thinking it's going to be a right pain having to detangle again, considering she couldn't do it the last time. She dried it and then said it was ready...I was looking like i had been in a hurricane with my hair all over the place. I said I wanted it straight, and she said really, she had another client to attend to!!! I stood my ground and said if she had straighteners that she could use...she ran it through the back of my hair and I couldn't stand it anymore. I felt very sorry for the girl waiting - she looked so worried as the stylist was 'finishing' my hair. 3 hours of being in the salon with an inexperienced stylist, who had no interest in what she was doing, had the attitude of a teenage girl rather than the twenty-something that she was. I really couldn't berate this salon enough...very poor indeed. I put my hair up as I was leaving as I was so disgusted with it.
I have had to go to another salon a few days later to get the cut and colour that it actually needed...with professional stylists and a relaxing time rather than the stressful time I had there. I've advised friends since about their appointments and to change the stylist from that girl...perhaps there is someone else there better but I have my doubts about it! Never again!

I loved the fact that I could get a professional hairdressing service for my afro hair and not pay a fortune! I had a lovely moroccan oil steam treatment which was recommended to me by the owner and I left with my hair feeling soft and nourished. I really enjoyed the multi cultural vibe that the salon had offering services for all hair types. I would definitely recommend : )
