Bearpit Coffee serve the best coffee in Bristol - and it is organic too. There is also a fruit stand and gourmet sausages.
These traders need to be supported to ensure this keeps going. Amazing work guys!
The bear pit has been massively improved. Keep up the good work. (when are bears actually being reintroduced?)

BREAKING NEWS a bear is coming back to the pit. Should be there by crimbo
We walk through the Bear Pit almost every day,and have done for the past twenty years. Never seen it looking and feeling so vibrant!
Picked spinach and tomatoes and used them in our salad, delicious!
Long may you continue.

The Bear Pit is positively blooming nowadays, rather than being blooming horrid like it used to be. Can’t wait for the spring flowers!

I go through the Bear Pit twice a day on the way to work and back. My company and I have taken repsonsibility for one of the plots and will shortly be putting in Bulbs for spring. Its been brilliant gardening at lunchtime and meeting so many people that are loving what we are doing. The herbs have been really popular with people taking a cutting of rosemary for their dinners on the way home or some fresh peppermint to make tea.
We’re currently raising to get a ping pong table installed. I cant wait to see what developments are going to happen in this area to make it a nicer place for everyone.

It’s so much better there since they sorted out the greenery, now it’s a nice place to be – it’s great to see the plants developing throughout the months as you go past at different times.

After visiting and working on the Bearpit with Kerry and the team, I walked away feeling inspired. The work that they are doing for the community has most definitely brightened up a rather gloomy subway and made it a place for all.
Keep up the good work and I look forward to seeing you all down there soon.
Best,
David.

What a great initiative, keeps the city looking beautiful in what was once a scary place to walk. Keep up the great work, you are a testament to our great city.

The Bear Pit is a music arena, soup kitchen, vegetable garden and art gallery.. surely the most vibrant roundabout in England? :-)

The bear pit is becoming such a vibrant place, thanks to the continued effort of a bunch of lovely, energetic folk. Instead of turning the corner and being worried about your safety, you can now turn the corner and feel excited about what might have changed. There’s something new happening each week. Particularly love the veggie patch – goes to show that with a little love, you can grow in all kinds of conditions. Those courgettes are way better than any in my garden. Keep it up guys.

I’ve helped out a bit in the gardening plot, and have been surprised by how well things grow there. I’ve had 3 leeks and would love to see a ping pong table there in the future. keep up the good work everyone!

The typewriting machine, when played with expression, is no more annoying than the piano when played by a sister or near relation.
Tremendous work everbody, carry on composting…

Since the volunteers have started work on the Bear Pit the area has felt so much nicer. The walk through used to be hood up, head down and as quick as you can but the efforts of the gardeners have made such a difference. It’s like “Broken window” syndrome in reverse.
