Best. Hot. Chocolate. In. Town. And the pralines are also delicious - and even though Ireland is not really famous for it's chocolates, Butler's can proudly wave the flag of creating some that's even comparable to Belgian ones.

They are famous for a reason. I wish I could never have put one of those amazing chocolates anywhere near me- if only I had known they would be so addictive!
They make a cracking array of gift sets here and amazing hot chocolates!

I used to love this place until they replaced the 'pick a luxury chocolate with your coffee’ concept with the less fun 'take our generic pre-selected truffle’ with your coffee. Sigh. All the same, quite nice place for coffee but sometimes I find the foams a little cold.(Did I actually just say that?Ugh.So Paris Hilton) Not great on seating space as well, so it’s much better for takeaway coffee.

This cafe serves some of the most delicious hot chocolate i have ever tasted in my life. The hot chocolate was so delicious because it was rich and creamy and freshly made from some of the amazing chocolate that they sell in the Butler’s chocolate shop. Although it can be quite expensive for a mug of hot choc (especially now with the current state of the euro against the pound) it is definitely worth the money. The cafe is a lovely place to just stop and relax for a while and treat yourself so something so gorgeous and soothing.
This is a 'must-do’ while in Dublin and is literally a chocoholics paradise!

Butlers Chocolate Cafe combines two wonderful Pleasures for me:
1. Coffee Drinking.
2. Enjoyment of the Homemade Chocolates.

The Butlers Chocolate was founded in 1932 by Mrs Bailey Butler. Also the first cafe first opened in 1998 in Dublin City.

The range of drinks include, hot chocolate, lattes, mochas and cappuncino’s. Also available is chocolate cakes and croissants. Every drink comes with a complimentary home made Chocolate piece. They make fudges, carmals, loose chocolates and fondants too. So if you love chocolate visit Butlers Chocolate Cafe.

Warning: Once you have your first hot chocolate or Mocha from Butlers, you won’t be able to stop.

There are a number of these cafes dotted around Dublin and you’ll probably recognize them by the queues, especially in winter, when people are reeled in by the promise of delicious warm sugary drinks accompanied by yummy hand made chocolates. It’s not cheap, but still affordable. In any case, you’ll soon be selling your mothers TV to buy more, as she desperately looks on, and wishes you’d gotten into heroin instead.

Butlers used to sell itself as something special, something you might give your mother in law at christmas, or your teacher if she was extra quirky. Unfortunately, they shamelessly saturated the market, making a butlers coffee almost as insipid as a box of butlers chocolates. It’s amazing how less tasty things become when their manufacturers make a balls of their marketing campaign, i give the whole fad another three to five years. Max.

There are many Butlers Chocolate Cafes around Dublin and Ireland. I have been to many of them and really like visiting them whenever I can.

My favourite thing to get is a hot chocolate with marshmallows, which is delicous and sweet. They have a lovely variety of chocolates which you can pick and bring home with you or have a few with your beverage as a nice treat. Also they have many gift boxes of butler’s sweets, fudges and toffees for sale in the cafe. Which is ideal for tourists, a gift for someone’s birthday or just as a little treat for youself!

There is no finer place in the whole of Dublin (yes I said it) than Butler’s for chocolates! There hot chocolate drinks are a dream of goodness, with flakes and thick cream, in many variations, including a beautiful ensemble of hot white chocolate. Don’t forget to try a Mocha if you like your coffees, although you may never have one this good again!
They specialize in chocolate, and have a vast array of perfectly formed delights, available prepackaged, in your hand over the counter, or specifically arranged for your special occasion.
This is a popular chain in Dublin, but I have chosen the one on Chatham street as I like to sit outside, where there isn’t too much bustle and take my time absorbing these naughty flavours.
