10 reviews of Watersky in English
We were treated appallingly and they were very defensive when the food was clearly inedible. Bad value for money..horrible food.
We have visited Watersky twice and been very pleased both times. We ate from the all you can eat buffet both times and were able to order as much as we liked from the menu and was delivered to our table. I thought the menu didn’t have a bad choice of dishes, but a few more familiar dishes would have been good, but is a good chance to try something new. The staff were good and friendly. One of the waitresses remembered us from our first visit four months earlier when we took our children, who were very welcome in the restaurant, so that was nice (I hope!)
We did get forgotten once when we ordered duck for our second course and it took a bit longer than normal to reach us, but this wasn’t really a problem as gave us more room for the main!
The portions are fairly small but they will willingly get you another helping. All the food was delicious, especially the starters, which you can choose and have as much as you like. The only downside, the drinks were a little expensive, but if you only pay £15 ish per person for as much food as you can eat, one can’t really complain. Would eat here again and recommend it.

This place is the real deal; the Chinese restaurant that Chinese people go to (well, it's either Water Sky, or Mayflower, but the latter has become a bit hit and miss in terms of quality of late).
Order any of the 'real' Chinese dishes, such as kai lan, lotus root, stewed lamb hot pot, steamed fish, and you will be richly rewarded with freshly-cooked, perfectly seasoned food.
The roast duck is as good as any found in Hong Kong. Made freshly every day, they are only cut after cooling down, so that the meat retains all its juicy flavours. Served with a delicious sweet and sour plum sauce.
The restaurant has a Chinese-banquet vibe. Light, bright and full of bling. The loos are something to behold! Waiting staff are all very well turned out in golden waistcoats and are very professional, although a little over-attentive if you are one of the first tables of the day.

The decor at Watersky is wonderful in a kitsch sort of way, but the food and service were grim when we attended the cavernous and almost empty upper floor restaurant today.
Where to begin? Being told that members of our party who chose the buffet wouldn't be allowed to share any food with people eating Dim Sum got us off to a bad start. To avoid this we went for the a la carte. Service was perfunctory and disorganised.
Soft shell crab, at £5.95 a piece and which is wonderful at places like Haozan in London, was flabby and tasted of flour; sweet and sour pork was exactly the same as the Tesco version. The drunk chicken I ordered was unavailable and the waitress suggested a house specialty - roast duck. It came suspiciously quickly - warm and greasy skinned. The only thing with any interest was a Singapore noodles.
Unbearable and embarrassing, we left as soon as we could. Perhaps the head chef ran away with the house manager last week; perhaps there is a parallel universe where this is the Best chinese restaurant in Europe. But I'll never know.

Best Chinese in Bristol. Good variety and quality dim sums in lunch time. Nice atmosphere, spacious and I should mention the nice decor in the loo!!!

My family and I have been here a number of times and this is a great place to eat and hang out.
The staff are very friendly and helpful - very family friendly.
The food is top notch - very delicious, and the surroundings are suitably plush and clean.
There's even a car park with plenty of free parking.

I thought this was the best Chinese restaurant in Europe we have been there 3 times and you get all you pay for. Excellent food and service. Staff friendly, excellent English skills.

This is the best Chinese restaurant Bristol has ever had. It’s large, opulent and the service is on the whole, excellent. It gets really busy on Sundays as many chinese people go out for lunch together as a family then.
The only downside is that you cannot book a table on a sunday, you just have to turn up and hope that there is a table or you won’t have to wait too long. The longest we’ve had to wait is an hour, but generally a table is available quicker than that.
The food is very tasty, and I think both Chinese and English people would enjoy it (I’m half of both and I like it!)
I believe they also offer a take away service.
