The Hanover Fairgrounds are known and renowned throughout the world, since they hold some of world's biggest fairs in the industrial and other sectors.
Installed shortly after the war, namely in 1947, the Hanover Fair looks back on decades of tradition and know-how. With thousands of exhibitors from dozens of countries and hundred thousands of visitors each year, the Hannover Fair may boast to be the world's biggest industrial fair. It is held annually in early spring.
The fairground (deutsch: Messegelände) can be reached quite easily via train, car, or subway (or by helicopter, even, if you have to go to Hanover's airport). Prizes for tickets are mostly not very cheap (depending on which fair you're visiting), but considering you can use them all day, certainly worthwhile.
The place is also well-known for the CeBIT, the world's largest computer exposition, which started in 1986.
