Where did we go before ikea??? its pretty much what you would expect. its laid out like a bit of a maze but its great to see everything they have on offer.
u always end up spending more than you plan and even though most things are well priced you will occasionally find something (kitchen stuff usually) that you can get cheaper elsewhere so just be carefull. the cafe is really good and fantastic value. happy shopping.

I love ikea!!
I have kitted out two homes with ikea furniture and even kitchens. The prices are fantastic due to the flat pack nature of the furniture and the thrill of building it then looking at what you have achieved is great.
My favourite times to go are late december when they have reduced all theire christmas stock (I stock up on all my wrap and decorations for the next year). And then end of summer cos they have reduced all their summer shop goods.
You can get a reasonable meal in the restaurant for next to nothing and don’t forget to buy a strawberry tart as they are the best you can get.
Above all else dont forget to go to bargain corner before going round the store to see whats on offer.

Excellent Superstore at Braehead. Everything here for the Household - Food, Plants, White Goods, Storage Systems, Shelving, Kitchens - in fact, everything including the “Kitchen Sink” for very reasonable prices.
Try the Restaurant for a good selection of Snacks + Meals or like me, go to the Snack Bar at the exit, for the Hot Dog Specials (Hot Dog, Chips + a Drink for about £1.50. This includes Drink Top-Ups. Value for Money ???
Enjoy.

If you are going in this store, BE PREPARED to give you loads of time…! As you would find yourself time going past you too quickly…
As i have been in this store, and about 3 to 4 hours have flow past me too quickly… I love going to this store, as it ranges from everything you name it, like kitchen, kitchen equipments, crockery’s cutlery’s, such as storages etc. Items for the Living room, like television stand, tables, storage’s, seats, couches, rugs picture on the wall, etc, even they do the gardening stuffs, ornaments for gardens, even something for the office space, like desk, or filing cabinets, letter racks, etc etc, even the bedroom, they sell mattresses, beds, pillows, duvets curtains, bed covers, even something for the hallway, like a mirror, rugs, picture on the wall, and they practically sell everything. Even lighting / shades
Even they have a cafe area on the upper area, while you rest to have a wee break and the foods/drinks are well cheap and very good price, it is like a bargain in there.
Also on seasonal events, they do sell xmas lines, like xmas lights and decorations etc.
Also I love shopping in their “swedish” shop which ranges of swedish foods, and I do love their meatballs, with their gravy, and ask for a bit of red lingonberry sauce, and they are so DELICIOUS!!! You should give them a try!!!
Kids are great in this store, as they can be able to roam anywhere in the store, even they do provide a creche place for them. But I rather to have them with me, and let them roam the store, they can be able to jump in the display’s own bed, and they can pretend to be sleeping, or hiding in the wardrobes, while I play peek for them…
Or even when we are in the kitchen area, and we sit on the display’s kitchen’s dining tables, and we sit, and pretend to be eating our “breakfast” and enjoy making a fool of ourselves, and we do enjoy being entertained…
They get much more fun than being stuck in the creches!!!
Also their toilets area are great always immaculate, and tidy.
Even the staff are great to help, but at the busy period, the staff tend to be even more busier…!

You can’t really go wrong with Ikea furniture, it’s mostly reasonably priced, fairly sturdy and not really all that difficult to put together and you will almost certainly find something you like.
I love the market place which is full of lots of unusual Xmas decorations and lights, many already reduced in price.
The restaurant has the feel of a work canteen, but the food is very reasonably priced & of course with your loyalty card you can have free tea/ coffee on week days. The food, while not being gourmet fayre, is always popular with kids & when they get bored they can wander over to the play area which has a large TV showing cartoons. Breakfasts are the best deal without a doubt.

Before this Ikea opened the nearest to me was in Edinburgh so this has been a god send. It’s an ideal place for furniture that looks good and is of a reasonable price, especially good if your just starting out with your first house and don’t have too much money to spend. They do some really good lighting and pictures and the bedding is always nice too.I think you will always find something a wee bit different from Ikea. They have a couple of eating places here too, there’s the wee hotdog place at the exit. This is quite nice if your looking for a quick cheap snack but the restaurant is better quality food and is just as cheap.I really love their meatballs and gravy…yum!!!They also have a little swedish food shop at the exit which sells unusal items and stocks Kopperberg cider,I found it in there years ago before it became really popular.

This Ikea store has all the same items as every other Ikea. The layout seems better than the other stores that I have been in and if you follow the prescribed route it is very easy to find everything you want. There are two places to buy food too. The first is a full restaurant which serves perfectly edible and cheap food for before your shopping trip. Afterwards there is the hotdog and ice cream stand after the checkouts. They do not however monitor the pick up points very well which means it can be very difficult to load large items on busy days as there are no spare pickup points and you are not allowed to take your trolley to the main car park.

Ikea’s hell.
I have been dragged to Ikea on more occasions than I care to remember always with the same result, I get kranky, claustrophobic, and end up with an overwhelming urge to do unsavoury things with Swedish meatballs to whoever it was that designed the layout of these shops.
I’ve always gone along with the crowd, but always in more of a happy-go-lucky kind of a way rather than an “I’m cattle” kind of a way which is how Ikea seems intent on treating you. On the plus side they’re used to be a ball swamp for the kids to go into in one of the corners of the shop … but I think it’s gone now.

You always end up coming out of Ikea with more than you intended to get! Some of the bits and pieces they sell are absolute bargains - glasses, cutlery, wrapping paper, plants.
The best bit after fighting your way through the queues and checkouts is getting a hotdog or ice cream (or both!). And the food shop is a wee gem too!
It can get very very busy through, especially at weekends and in the build up to Christmas. They have good discounts when the sales are on though, so its well worth the visit if you can put up with the hustle and bustle!

i love ikea. The stuff they sell is great have lots of stuff at home that was bought from here. My work also use things from here. The stuff they sell for children is great quallity. The food they sell in the cafe are is good and cheap. The only thing about Ikea is that it is a case of stack em high. It isn’t a fancy store but it is massive and takes a bit of time to walk about and find what you are looking for. The furniture they sell is very cheap but is quite high quality.

Before the days of Ikea in Edinburgh and Glasgow, I actually made my boyfriend drive down to Newcastle so I could see what all the fuss was about. It is a cool place to pick up really good priced items. The place is HUGE, and they have all the home departments you would expect. My favourite is the kitchen shop. Anything you need at a much better price than the department stores etc. OK, the quality may not be amazing, bt you get what you pay for and I have never had a problem with anythig I have bought. With some stuff you dont need to pay a fortune, it’s just basic stuff you need for yor house. They have loads of tills to keep things moving but I am sure at peak weekend times it can be a bit of a nightmare so I go midweek. Online and catalogue are great for checking stuff out before you go.

People often complain that their quality is not exceptional - but at those prices you cannot expect much more. Ikea makes practical modern furniture affordable to all. I have purchased flat packs from MFI, ARGOS, Focus etc - and none compare to Ikea’s innovative ideas and modern designs.
great for cheap modern and stylish designs. thing i love about it is it lasts as long as the fashion, no point in spending loads of money on something that will look dated and out of fashion in a few years.
Yes its flat pack but thats half the fun!
Visiting Ikea is a great day out - Excellent food hall! hot dogs are amazing and Breakfasts are unbelievably cheap and great tasting, sometimes its the only way i get my boyfriend to agree to our little trips there.

I didn’t notice it happening but somehow our whole house is furnished with Ikea products…flooring, curtains, sofas, bookshelves, seats! There are a lot of hideous looking items for sale at Ikea but pick well and you can get good looking items at a very good price. The restaurant is great value as well…especially the breakfasts for £1 - we go regularly with our kids and buy a pile of the breakfasts to distribute according to taste. Great place for value.

A fantastic shop located in an easy to reach part of Glasgow. It’s massive, so you’ll find everything that you need here. Take my advice and enjoy a hotdog in the ‘exit’ section before you start your shopping trip, although if you get hungry on the way round there is a large café offering a wide range of snacks for you to choose from as well. Like all IKEA stores the whole place is well laid out and I’ve always found the staff to be really helpful and friendly. There are plenty of car parking spaces outside, and I’ve never felt that this place is too busy, even when I’ve shopped there at the weekend!

Ikea is probably one of the few shops where you can almost have a day out for minimal cost, more so when it is raining. A typical day can be spent as follows: Arrive and head to the restaurant for breakfast. Following this offload the kids at the play area so that the adults can spend time walking slowly through the furniture area before picking up the kids and heading for a hotdog. Head for the market place where the kids can spend time at the toys and then on to the bargains area. If not sufficiently fed head back to the restaurant for dinner. Oh did I mention that quality and pricing everywhere is second to none.

Ikea is an institution for those moving to a first home. Hire a van for the day and load it up with your purchases from Ikea - they have everything you could possible need to furnish a home and at great prices. The furniture is also very modern and cleverly designed - things you didn’t even know you needed until you see them! Ikea is clean and well organised and there are signs to help direct you and find what you need. If at all possible, I’d recommend that you avoid peak times like weekends and bank holidays as it can be busy and sometimes difficult to park. The restaurant is clean and tidy and the food is excellent value. There is also a good range of healthy drinks and snacks for young children and free baby food. Throughout the store there are also some small play areas for children to keep them occupied as well as a creche for older children (from 3 years).

Ikea in glasgow is huge offers a wide range of reasonably priced products, you can also buy pear cider here which is a huge binus and they sell hot dogs which are amazing, the place is often really buy though and can be a bit of a nightmare to shop in. great swedish value for money

You can’t go wrong with Ikea, often seen as a cheap option, it’s actually just full of stuff that’s better designed that the average store. One tip - avoid bank holidays like the plague, you’ll spend hours queuing on the M8.

My home is pretty much full of Ikea stuff. I find it great value for money, the furniture is not only good looking it is sturdy and hardwaring. As for the store itself, it’s huge, if visiting allow yourself lots of time. They have a one way system in place and I would recomed you follow it or risk being reported missing. In saying that though if you do get lost for the night there are plenty of displays for you to relax and sleep in. There is a large carpark at this store but remember, when you get out in a few hours you probably have things to load. Not to worry, there is a loading place so as long as there is two of you (one to drive, one to watch the goodies) there should not be a problem with loading. Unless of course you get carried away and can’t fit everthing in the car

Ikea is a brilliant place to go for everything you need for your house to be rigged out with exceptionally stylish furniture at very reasonable prices.
Located in Braehead it’s not too far a journey outside the centre of Glasgow City and it is surrounded by Braehead shopping centre and other large stores.
Ikea not only offers great furniture but you can also buy from the Swedish shop in there selling an excellent range of Swedish delicacies and at the top of that list is kopparberg Pear Cider which they sell cheaper than anywhere else for the crate.
Ikea furniture is the easiest challenge you will ever ave when it comes to self assembly furniture

Ikea is a great place to shop if you are looking for cheap furniture and bits and bobs to do up your house. You can’t really beat it in terms of quality or value.
Like all Ikea stores, its pretty hard to navigate around in a hurry, but there are some shortcuts through to other parts of the store.
There is a creche facility and also baby changing and toilets downstaris near the entrance. The cafe is really spacious and excellent value. past the checkouts there are more toilets, a snack area (where you can get incredibly cheap hot dogs!) and the customer service area.

If you’re looking to kit out your home on a budget - Ikea is the place to come.
The range of items on offer at the Glasgow store is unbelievable - don’t expect to pop in for and hour, you’ll need the best part of a day to make your way around the store!
Most items are of pretty good quality - but always bare in mind, you get what you pay for!

I love ikea. I like how it’s set up in terms of what room you need furniture for as it gives you some great ideas.
I never leave without buying some of their little things as well, the downstairs walk is my pit fall as those 2-5 quid funky things soon add up! The furniture is sturdy, well priced and looks good in any home. I love how customisable everything is.
I think the food here though is absolutely dreadfall though. It’s over priced and nasty, tends to be over cooked and looks and tastes like a really bad school dinner. Having said that the food store downstairs stocks some really good stuff, just don’t eat in!

I love Ikea, it’s cheap, not nasty, great choice, good food, fantastic deals, my house is an advert for it.
It’s very very busy though, so I try and go during the week to avoid the rush.
They do different deals all year through so it’s worth keeping an eye out for a good bargain.
Join Ikea Family and you’ll get a discount on meals and items in store, I think you also get vouchers sent out too. Unfortunately they didn’t have this card when I furnished most of my house a few years ago.
Go to Ikea, then head over to Braehead, you’ll be sick of shopping for months and save yourself a fortune lol.

Ikea is my idea of hell. You can wander around that place for hours without ever finding what you’re looking for or the way out. I’ve been tempted before to break through a fire exit just to escape and experience fresh air again. It’s always full of people pushing each other out the way and big displays of glasses and crockery that are just waiting to be knocked over by the hundreds of toddlers charging around who don’t seem to belong to anyone. Then if by some miracle you do stumble upon something you like the look of and would like to buy, you have to make your way downstairs to the basement to wander around among shelves and shelves of cardboard boxes piled up to the ceiling. It takes another miracle to locate the specific cardboard box you want to buy, then you’ve got the struggle of wheeling it to the checkout and out the door to your car without banging into one of the aforementioned toddlers. Nightmare! Unfortunately they do cheap and nice furniture, so it’s one of those 'can’t live with it, can’t live without it’ scenarios.

The best shop in Scotland for cheap furniture and stuff for the house. Whenever we are down south visiting relatives we never forget to make the trip to Ikea. As we alway find good deals on furniture and accessories for our house. They also have a restraunt and a takeaway service. Which are both great value for money. Whenever were finished going round ikea we always get our hot-dog and chips from the takeaway at the front door. If you are planning on doing any decorating in the house or just looking to modernize your house your sure to find something that meets your needs at ikea. It is always busy no matter when you go. But there is most definetely plenty of parking available.

Ikea is great value. It’s hard visiting there without spending money on something. Their restaurant is nice to visit when it’s quiet and does deals if you have am Ikea Family card. The Swedish Food Store is hard to say no to. I’m glad somewhere sells hotdogs at a reasonable price (the cinema is over £3 whereas it’s 50p here).
Come early or late and avoid the annoying kids!

I like Ikea but it gets busy so i go early, the car park is a good size with free parking. It has a play area and a cafe with the meatballs a favourite. The store itself is large and a coffee break is always needed. The upper floor has the various rooms like a bedroom, kitchen, living room, etc giving you inspiration on how your various rooms can look. There is a tag on each item with a number this relates to the bay in the storeroom in which you can find the item you wish to purchase. The lower level is home to the kitchen utensils, pillows, rugs etc. They do a scheme called Ikea Family and through this they offer special offers so it might be worth signing up for it is free after all so go for it!

An absolutely vast building, kind of goes beyond the idea of a shop.
They have limited windows and cheap food, just like a casino, to keep you inside. Although to be honest the food is one of my favourite parts, there is usually a selection of a couple of main meals but the best thing to go for is the breakfast, which is served until 11.00.
The parking is pretty good with plenty of parent and child and disabled spaces, but you are best considering what you’ll be buying when parking and how easy it will be to get into the car.
I would recommend going early in the day at the weekend or during the week, when you get free coffee in the canteen if you have a loyalty card, as it can get a bit manic the rest of the time.
I could spend all day sitting at the window with a coffee watching people trying to cram ridiculous amounts of stuff into the back of their cars, except some of the time I think it’s me.

IKEA is always fun, basically you go there, buy some furniture from a massive selection and pick it up.
The fun really starts when you get home and you end up having a giant jigsaw puzzle! Luckily though there is very rarely any pieces missing.
Great value from money, furniture lasts a long time. And with their modular system you can customise it how you want it.

Well what can I say IKEA is great. The minute you walk in the door there is someone there to greet and assist you if you need it, they are always very cheerful as well. A big plus about ikea is it is a very friendly place to shop if you have children. They have baby changing facilites a creche and also kids trolleys. There are plenty of bargains to be had in here and a must have for anyone.
The best bit is once youve checked out you can go and get an uber cheap hot dog and drink for like 80p its super kool.
