Chueca used to be one of the darkest, most dangerous districts of downtown Madrid. But suddenly, the Gay community took over and turned it into a daily party!!

You will see the multicoloured flag everywhere in Chueca, and all sorts of places that cater to all sorts of pleasures: coffee shops, nightclubs, healthy food and juice shops, fashionable clothiers, restaurants, etc.. in the summer there are terraces covering the entire square, and every weekend is some kind of carnival. A must see for all, not just the Gays and Lesbians. It is probably one of the most vibrant and happening areas in town!!!
