strengthofabear: “Came here on New Years Day for Lunch with Ruiz and others, ended up staying till 11pm. Good jukebox. Helpful staff. Nice beer garden. Good location. Food was very average, standard pub stuff at best and not a lot of choice.” more...12 reviews of Bunch Of Grapes in English
Nice place for an after work drink. The inside is a little small, but the outside space has a few levels which helps.
It’s a good venue if you’re meeting up with people who all have to head off somewhere different in London as a variety of tube and train stations are close.
The staff were friendly and they have a “box o blankets” and outdoor heaters for when you sit outside during the winter.
Again nothing special in lots of ways, but a good place to go when you just want a catch up and a drink.
Nice smallish pub, tucked away of busy Borough High street. Youngs ale on sale. A small bar area to the left, dark wood interior. Has an outside seating area on multiple levels, blankets are available for use in cold weather. There is an upstairs dining area. The only downside I noticed, was all the doors slam. The exit, gents and ladies. No one tried the garden door while I was there.
I must have walked past this pub countless times on my trips to London Bridge. Not entirely sure why I've never gone in. It's alright. It's a Youngs pub, so if you're a fan of their ale, you're sorted. But I'm not, I think it's rather tasteless. Even their Christmassy 'Winter Warmer' was a bit pointless.
But the pub is actually cool. Busy, but you could still get a (standing) table. Staff are interesting. They ignore you if you're faffing about with your mobile phone. I like this, but as it was me who was faffing about with their mobile, I can't decide if it annoyed me or not.
Food is alright. We shared a sausage platter which came with wedges and bread and chutney (from a jar). Wine was nothing to shout about.
There's nothing about the pub that screams awesome, but it's better than a three star-er. It's also the closest pub to the Underground entrance that I use to get home, and that's going to come in super handy. I like it here, even if it's not my first choice in London Bridge.
Beers here on Wednesday with the Hawk after work.
I like it here, it has a nice atmosphere and the bar staff are friendly. Its normally a nice place for a quiet drink and chat in the seating areas (although this wasn't possible on Wednesday as it was busy).
Red Stripe on tap, which is rare.

Decent little pub with a nice patio area our back. Real ale and perfect if you have 1/2 hour spare before jumping on a train from London Bridge!
Young’s pub not far from the London Bridge street station, so has the usual range of Young’s ales which are perfectly nice (especially the Kew Gold summer offering) but I wish they had a guest too, for a bit of variety.
The staff are friendly and there is an outside area, although it would be extremely optimistic to call it a beer garden. The inside is pleasant too, according to their website it offers a “fantastic blend of traditional and contemporary décor” and who am I to disagree
This pub opens quite early (I think 10am) so it is a good place to meet if you are travelling to the football from out of London Bridge (as I have done once or twice).
A nice little pub located 3 minutes away from London Bridge and Guy’s Hospital & Campus. Avid scientist can often be drawn into interesting conversation as many of the King’s College medical professors can be seen having a pint and a debate in this small pub. The prices are higher than others in the area but it has a nice environment.
Nice small little pub, good selection of beer and wine. The food selection look good though I did not try any.
I went at lunch time and the pub was quite busy. There seams to be not much seating room. The bar Is very nice looking and has no TV or music playing which is good if you want a good chin wag.
On a recent walk around central london i was suprised to see just how many Youngs pub there were- i was determined to find a pub near to London Bridge rail station. This is where i found The Bunch of Grapes. Very clean on the outside, and looks like your typical Youngs pub (no bad thing, i might add!). On walking through the door you notice just how similar to other Youngs pubs this is- quite small, and nicely decorated. Needless to say it was rather busy. I went up ti the bar, and was happy to see Winter Warmer on!. One thing i always do is watch the staff as they pour the pint, and it has to be said, the staff here know how to pour a pint!. i Didn’t have to wait to long either, and was acknowledged as soon as i got to the bar. There is an upstairs restaraunt, although i have yet to try it. The toilets were very clean and well maintained. Overall i rate it top- prices are about £3.15 a pint, but lets face it, this is london. it’s more expensive near the tate modern!
It’s a nice little pub this one, hidden away off the main drag of Borough High Street, and currently hiding behind some fairly major roadworks. It’s a fairly small place, in traditional English pub style, with lots of dark wood, lots of tall tables and chairs and a pretty good selection of beers.
As 78Apples says - a bit less 'blokey’ than a lot of pubs in the area and that’s certainly no bad thing. It’s got a friendly atmosphere, full of lots of chat.
It gets pretty busy from mid-week onwards and actually, despite the credit crunch it was rammed this week on a Tuesday when we popped in.
No music and no TV for those interested in that sort of thing - just chat and drinks.
All in - if you’re looking for a pub around the area you can do a lot worse than drop in here.
Good little pub just off the main borough high St/London Bridge drag. A bit more female friendly than some of the other pubs around (ok - so that may just be me, I’m sure plenty of girls love the old mans boozers but not me).
Decent cosy garden out the back.
it gets pretty busy on a Thursday
