I enjoyed my dinner with friends a lot. They were satisfied with their choice as well. One took lobster and the other - some fish. All portions was enough big so we didn't left hungry.
The location is great and the atmosphere there is authentic. Really good place to eat!
For £6, you can get a cheeseburger (awesome) and free fries (soggy) and a free can of drink. Pretty great deal, as the cheeseburger has a really juicy beef patty in between two interesting sesame buns and some vegetables.
Apparently the burger isn't as good as if you have it during a sit-down meal in the restaurant, but it tasted pretty good to me and beats having a cold sandwich from Pret that will set you back £3.50 by itself already.

Goodman – a byword for great steak – has opened up its third restaurant, this time at a scenic location by the river in Canary Wharf. If you have been to any other Goodman restaurant, I can confirm that the experience you will receive is exactly the same and of the highest quality. You will be served by friendly staff, the waiter will come out with a platter of the different cuts and show them to you, and you will probably be struggling to finish off your steak even before you start thanks to the great side dishes they have. Yes, I have an odd habit of going for the sides as staters instead of an actual starter. I highly recommend the truffle chips, creamed with gruyere cheese, and mac and cheese sides to begin with.
The steak I go for hasn’t changed since I first came here in 2009. I have always opted for a Goodman ribeye (400 g) with the stilton sauce. Don’t be fooled by the name of the sauce as it’s actually red wine and stilton sauce and you can hardly taste the blue cheese. It is, in my opinion, the best of the three sauces on offer, the other two being pepper and Bearnaise.
Other cuts on the menu include fillet (250 g), sirloin (350 g), Porterhouse and T-bone, all of which can be found under the 150-day aged US beef section and a further two cuts in the UK beef section. The day I went, specials included Chateaubriand, ranging from 550 g to over 800 g.
This time around, I could barely finish half of my steak and ended up sharing the rest with two other people. I know. For shame! I did manage to sneak in a couple of spoonfuls of my boyfriend’s dessert: a delicious Bramble apple and cherry crumble topped with cinnamon ice-cream.
The wine list is extensive, consisting of wines from Italy, France, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and South America. The cheapest bottle of red was in the low 30s.
As this restaurant is only a couple of months old (it opened at the end of November), it’s not as hard to get a table here compared to the original in Mayfair.
Highly recommended if you like steak and are willing to spend a bit. I usually pay around £50 per head if I am not drinking.
