2 reviews of Adrian Boult Hall in English
A reasonably sized hall, I have only been there for Birmingham University concerts, for which is it an almost perfect size. The accoustics led to a lovely, memorable performance and I would definitely return.
Especially as I now know where it is!! Finding it was remarkably difficult, down the side of the library complex and part of the Birmingham Conservatoire, the Adrian Boult Hall is very badly signed and we only found it by following the sound of tuning instruments.
Generally a rehearsal space, and being used for a University function refreshments and staff were limited although due to the cheapness of the ticket I can’t really complain.
I would definitely go again, although expectations of the venue are limited.
The ABH is a moderately sized concert (and rehersal) venue for medium sized orchestras and the like, predominatly those assoicated with the Conservatoire, but not exclusively. Set inside the Conservatoire it can be hard to find.
The accousitcs are pretty good, and the interval refreshments, while limited, are not too extortionatly priced.
