Poundland can be the source of some fantastic bargains, and this is one of the bigger and better ones. It’s quite spacious considering, and they stock a particularly good range of food and drink. Service is friendly and there are plenty of checkouts so it’s fine even at busy times.

However as is inevitably the way with pound shops, they never stock the thing you go in for; you always come out with something slightly different, or completely different. Also, be wary of the quality of some of their electrical goods, like headphones, some of which are utterly terrible. And don’t get too caught up in the “one pound is a bargain!” mentality- you might find yourself paying a pound here for something which will only cost up 60p in Tesco… But otherwise, it’s great.

Great for saving money on cleaning products, shampoo and conditioners and housewares (washing up bowls, mops, hangers, that sort of thing). Everything’s a pound. Take a shopping list and see if you can get some bargains on those things you had to buy anyway!
Just make sure you can pay in cash.

a great place to pick up bargain as sells diy hardware, food and drink, stationary, pots and pans, and small electrical items, blanks dvds and cds. everything for a £1 as the name suggests.

This is a brill shop. it sells everything you could imagine/need!!! I frequent this shop as I always manage to pick up a bargain or 10….the turn over of stock is very quick too so its worth noting that if you see something and don;t buy it, it more than likely won;t be there when you come back!!! Well stocked store too.

As Poundland goes this is quite a good one. These are the types of shops you go in thinking that you don’t actually need anything and come out having spent a tenner! In fact I actually have to give my husband a £10.00 limit otherwise he ends up spending a fortune on things that we didn’t really need.
There are lots of good things to be had in this shops and they are handy for when you want a can of pop which are often 2 or 4 for a pound. Also good for computer cables etc.
However, I would say to be careful not to fall under the illusion that everything is cheaper especially some of the food items because they can actually be cheaper in the supermarket you just tend to think that £1.00 is cheap.
Be prepared to queue and have to stumble around the shop as with many of the pound shops they are busy.

This is the kind of shop you pop into for a browse, not really with the intention of buying anything, but come out with arms full of 'stuff’.. So make sure you get a basket on your way in!

Poundland has a bit of everything, from babies bottles, batterys and bleach to pet supplies, party poppers and pens.

My daughter always stocks up on pens, paper crayons and felt tips aswell as naughty treats as yes, this shop does sell lots of sweeties and goodies!

Some of the household stuff, as in the varses/picture frames aren’t of the bestest quality - but who cares? it costs a quid! good value in anyones book.

i am in york a couple of times a month visting my boyfriend, and we always pop into here for sweeties, and also to have a look around.
it has a great selection of beauty products, so when i come down from scotland, i dont bother bringing things with me, i just pick them up from poundland.
i have noticed that the shop is always full when i am there, it must be very populer, same with our poundshops in scotland.
you get some great bargins in here, stuff that costs double the price in boots, you can get in here for only £1, its madness!!
it is a great place to take your kids on a sturday and let them pick whatever they want, coz you know there not going to pick anything dearer than £1.
The staff have always been nice and friendly when i have been in.
Its well worth a look next time your passing.

Poundland has to be the best pound shop ever! They sell everything imaginable. Some of the stuff is complete tat but there is some awesome bargains to be had. The stationary is always good value and very good quality, they’re envelopes are very good value for all you ebayers out there!

One of the few problems with ths shop is it is so popular you can bearly move in there. But they are well staffed and getting through the tills is generally quick and painless.

everything item for a £ and sometimes 2 for a £!

excellent for the ebaying packaging the bubble wrap envelopes! 10 dvd sized envelopes for £1!

stationary, toys, beauty products, chocolates groceries etc even had the durex vibrating rings in once, got a load as xmas presents for friends! hate to think what the shop assistant thought at the tills??!!

and occassionally they’ll have some really nice branded items in, like champneys, umberto whatshis name hair care products etc

so its always worth a look in! just to make that hard earned pound go that little further!
