Was here for a book launch earlier in the week, so maybe my experience of this place was a little different to some.. it being mid week and all. Quite liked it... weird entrance with all the little alcoves with booths but quite cosy and I can imagine would be great with a group of friends cosy!
Smaller than I thought it would be though and cosier than I imagined, i thought it would be quite sterile but it was quite cool. Good seating for a night out for groups but not much room for standing or dancing. REally nice bathrooms - you know I like a good bathroom and the staff seemed friendly enough, but whether they were just there for the book launch and not regular staff I dont know. Cool music Kate bush and Fleetwood Mac but then again I think that was just for the launch as it was vintage.
All up, I quite liked this place it wasnt as trendy as I imagined it to be and had quite a cosy vibe, give it a go maybe on a Thursday or Friday night.
I like this place despite the fact that drinks are a bit pricey. It is classy and if you are looking to impress someone on a night out its a great place to go. The atmosphere is way chill so you can chat with out having to yell. Brining your own ipod is genius if you plan on staying there a while.

I disagree with the previous review, I was quite disappointed with One Below after going there for an office party. The drinks were overpriced, even for a trendy place, and the service was quite unimpressive. We sat in one of the private booths which, while a novel concept, were quite uncomfortable and awkward. The idea of plugging in your own iPod for music is clever, but then again you might as well be at home if you’re listening to your own stuff. And unfortunately the default music being played is pretty cringeworthy stuff, mostly being low-quality funk. More pretentious than prestigious, One Below is best given a miss by all but the most easily impressed.
