Beautiful, friendly and cosy pub. Open fireplace keeps you warm while you drink the nice array of fine beers and ales.
Very friendly staff. One gripe I have, is we came last in the quiz night :)
Money prize always attracts the quiz pros.

Review of The Pineapple from 8 February 2011 (updated on 11 June 2011)

Tempted to give this a 1 star, just to keep away the masses - its a great little pub, with really nothing against, except maybe the 'little', but just when you need a seat to eat.......! Great mix of people, with many regulars and a good few irregulars. I love the fact that you feel that you are in this very English local - nice ales, open fires....and then your Thai food arrives!

Quimby The Kingstone Brewery? Of course you can and sample Tory`s Artisan breads and organic foods. in the luscious beautiful Wye Valley.

fothers great!! Its on the list!

Review of The Pineapple from 15 March 2010

I finally made it to The Pineapple, even though only for a quick drink before heading off to see a gig.
I stayed long enough to notice and enjoy its cozy cheerfulness, not enough to try the much praised food or any of the beers (I had a glass of wine).
Will be back, hopefully soon.

Sausage Sundays, Quiz Mondays and Cheese Thursday’s; All in one pub?

Yes yes yes! If you enjoy an eclectic mix of good ole’ English ale, thick red velvet upholstery and weekly pub quizzes united lovingly with the taste of the orient (Thai) menu and the Moroccan style conservatory out back, then, like me, this is the place for you.

This pub literally has all you could ask for, and then even more heaped on top. The last Saturday of every month is great for a girl’s night out with their famous ‘cocktail Saturdays’ and any man worth his weight in sausages could not refuse the chance to indulge in FREE sausages on a Thursday afternoon, between 3pm and 6pm. N.B – If conversation is getting slow, and you’ve finished your Thai prawn crackers see how many Pineapples you can count – I’m on 10!

Review of The Pineapple from 25 August 2009

This is a great little pub hidden away in the lovely residential streets of Kentish Town. They do a great offer for lunch which is a fiver for a range of dishes off their Thai menu, all of which are great quality. The staff are very friendly and will reserve you a table, it does tend to get busy on a Friday lunchtime but you can ring and pre-order if there are a few of you.

They often have different ales on and have a good choice of lagers, wines and other drinks.

They have a conservatory at the back and also a nice yard area which catches the sun in the afternoon and can be basking in heat in the summer.

A real gem of a place, would recommend you vist.

Review of The Pineapple from 23 July 2009

Although I lived fairly near here a few years ago, I never knew this pub was there. It’s located on a side road near the Kentish Town Tube, but unless you know it’s there, you wouldn’t know of its existance.
It’s beautifully restored with high ceilings, an ornate bar, comfy seats, a conservatory, a decent selection of drinks, Thai food and a lovely atmosphere.
I was there for one of the monthly literary events held upstairs, and got there early and enjoyed a drink with the locals. I even met and talked to the singer of a very well known band!
I didn’t try the food, though the menu looked good and was reasonably priced.
I have the feeling that I will be going back whenever I’m in the vacinity and have been recommending this charming gem to all of my friends!

Review of The Pineapple from 19 May 2009

Tuckered out by a long week, weather refusing to decide what it was going to be I dragged my girlfriend to the Pineapple for a quick post pint last Friday. She’s from Canada, travelled and lived all corners of the world which generally makes me feel a little inferior in the life experience department (it’s my own hangup) So despite the fact she’s lived here for 3 years, I’m always keen to show her some proper, quintessential English things. May I quickly tell you that I haven’t a patriotic bone in my body so I’m not pulling rank or nothing. The Pineapple is full to the scuppers with local waifs and strays. A few years ago there was a battle to keep from the developers sticky paws and it seems now to go from strength to strength. It’s cramped and old school, full of the original features that have been given a face lift rather than an overhaul. Out the back there is a conservatory which, when hired out as it was last friday, leaves the rest of the pub standing room only and near unbearable. And out through the conservatory is a very modest l-shaped garden. I haven’t eaten here since they opted for a thai menu but I know that a majority of those that prop up the bar were somewhat annoyed an baffled by the change of menus. It was a litle overwhelming for my Canadian the day we went, we ended up out on the pavement finishing our drinks as the volume grew inside. But I love this pub, inside, outside, half empty or totally full. It’s proper.

Review of The Pineapple from 26 March 2009

The Thai food is great, cheap and the service is incredibly quick.

Nice ales, atmos and old school decor. Nice use of curtains, and a nice mix of clientele.

Has a real village feel for zone 2. Apparently faced with closure back in the day, it was rescued due to its unique, antique mirrors behind the bar.

Review of The Pineapple from 19 November 2008

The Pineapple is a great, if slightly unusual, pub in my opinion. There is usually an old fashioned curtain next to the front door to keep drafts out and real fire place, but the rear of the pub has a somewhat modern feel to it. There is a garden with some cover which is enjoyable if it is warm enough.

Drinks were reasonably expensive in my opinion and I can’t vouch for the food. Also, it is located somewhat off the main road in a residential area so is a little difficult to find. Worth a visit if you are passing, but not if you are going to have to make a special trip.

I hear some local celebs such as John Snow drink here.

Review of The Pineapple from 27 October 2008

Fresh, crusty bread and hot, tasty sausages were on the bar for everyone to help themselves to when we arrived at The Pineapple on Sunday. Yum! A great way to keep the regulars (who were contentedly propped up round the small bar, supping pints) happy and give us newcomers a reason to come back again.

It’s a lovely warm, homely pub – especially in the bar area where open log fires give a cosy feel. Apart from the free sausage sarnies they have a cracking Thai menu of delicious, reasonably priced dishes. Bar prices were fair, too – a glass of Merlot for £3 went down a treat, as did a spicy Bloody Mary for £4. The staff were nice, helpful and as it’s off the beaten track it was quite quiet, so it didn’t take an age to get served.

Out back there’s a bright, airy conservatory and a beer garden with heaters for winter, and big sunshades for summertime, too. They have a stack of board games, like Trivial Pursuit and Snakes and Ladders (!), and all the Sunday papers. It’s also child and dog friendly, which is great for big family lunches at weekends.

A fab pub, I’ll be back…

Review of The Pineapple from 9 September 2008

Great pub in Kentish Town with lovely log fires in the winter (how sad that it’s cold enough for them already in September) and a sunny conservatory for summer.
The decor is great - think old-fashioned Regency style with plenty of mirrors.
The Thai food is also good and pretty reasonable for a pub mal in NW5. My one criticism would be - who thought people would want to eat noodles in this setting? It may all be great stuff, but something doesn’t quite add up there.
