Acupuncture Bodywork

I whole heartedly recommend seeing Duncan if you are considering acupuncture. His knowledge, passion and expertise is undoubtedly evident and he has a kind and patient manner that puts you at ease.

I first saw Duncan for a finger injury that wasn’t healing properly; as a violinist this was a very worrying condition as it was preventing me from working. After only a few sessions with Duncan the strength had fully returned and the afflicted finger was pain-free. I’ve not had any problems with it since.

I later went to see him for IBS. My symptoms were very severe and had greatly impacted upon my day-to-day life. Duncan managed to address all my symptoms—not just the physical ones but the emotional ones as well—and now my day-to-day symptoms are near non-existent. When I do have an occasional flare-up Duncan can bring it under control with just a few sessions.

He answers my many questions with clarity and competence that highlight his proficiency and helps me to understand the treatment process. I trust him completely and recommend him regularly.

Duncan was recommended through a friend of a friend. I decided to try acupuncture for a condition that four GPs and two consultant specialists had told me the only remedy an operation.

I’m not comfortable with needles so was initially very apprehensive. However, Duncan has a very calming and attentive manner that instils confidence. Also, I’m a bit nosey and like to know why things are being done and how things work. Duncan talked me through each process or technique he used which added to my reassurance and highlighted his expertise across massage, biomechanics, Chinese medicine and sports therapy. Ever session was a learning experience as well as healing!

After several sessions the symptoms started to recede, recurring with less frequency. I’ve been pain free for 3 months and can’t thank Duncan enough considering I thought my only option when I first went to him was major surgery.

I’m also training for a marathon and have had several muscular and skeletal issues. Duncan has used a combination of acupuncture (for a knee injury) and sports massage (on my poor hard worn legs). Duncan applied the same diagnostic approach to the massage and identified what the underlying causes might be and focussed the massage on those areas, something I’d not experienced from other massages before, which I think has greatly improved my recovery time.

Overall, can’t recommend him enough.

I had been interested in trying acupuncture for a while, initially for cosmetic acupuncture. I wanted to go to an acupuncturist who had been recommended and Duncan had received a glowing recommendation from a colleague at work.

As going for even the flu jab made me anxious, I did feel nervous before going for my first session. However, although I found having the needles being put in slightly uncomfortable, the effects from this, of feeling really relaxed and calm more than compensated for any slight discomfort I felt. After a couple of sessions I no longer had any phobia about the needles due to Duncan’s reassurance throughout the process.

I have now had acupuncture on several occasions and from the first session, with Duncan’s advice, realised that acupuncture could help me in so many ways. I now have treatment for headaches/migraines, stress and IBS. Since having acupuncture, I suffer from IBS less regularly, have noticed a reduction in how often I get headaches and haven’t had a migraine for several months. I also really value how acupuncture can make me feel so calm and at peace and I literally feel like a different person after a session.

As an acupuncturist, Duncan has a calm and positive energy and because of his really kind and caring manner I feel completely comfortable with him. It is also clear from his knowledge that he is an expert in his field and I therefore wholeheartedly trust his diagnosis/advice.

I’ve been treated by Duncan several times, both bodywork and acupuncture therapies. I walked in with severe muscular pain and walked out with greatly reduced pain that went on to disappear entirely within 24hrs.

Can’t recommend this guy enough – really knowledgeable, professional and friendly. Could answer all my questions about my particular injury (that no one else had been able to treat effectively) with an extensive knowledge of everything from Chinese medicine to biomechanics and physiotherapy. Very effective, holistic treatment that actually works. Lovely treatment rooms in the heart of London too – really convenient and affordable.

I have been seeing Duncan on and off for a few years now, he gives the best sports massage in my experience (and i’ve tried a few), and has helped me with acupuncture for various things including painful periods, jet lag and just feeling stressed and tired. He is a calm, professional and friendly guy I can’t recommend him and his services enough.
