12 reviews of Goodge Place Food Market in English
I’ve worked in the area on and off for several years, and can honestly say that this little spot off Goodge Street has been my downfall on my repeated attempts to survive on sandwiches! How can one possibly keep up a packed lunch pledge when these delicious, fresh meals are cooked daily on your office doorstep?
Best of the stalls by a long shot is the Thai truck, and I don’t generally even like Thai food. The green curry is addictive, and has become a stock hangover cure for myself and a handful of colleagues over the years. There is also a fantastic burrito truck and another selling freshly made falafel.
All I can say is avoid this place like the plague if you want to save money or lose weight!

I hadn’t been for a while but today I made my way back to Goodge Place and queued for a box of salad. It was brilliant. It’s hard to believe that the best, healthiest, yummiest food around is from this little enclave. I’ve had the falafel – unspeakably good; the burritos – brilliant; the thai curries – tasted them all and they are great. My absolute fave tho is the turkish salad stall. Not only is it fantastic value at £4 (still – look at the reviews below) but the quality is outstanding and even with a dollop of hummous and a wodge of bread it’s the healthiest lunch going. It is way better than Planet Organic. I have made a resolution to eat here as often as possible because I know it will be a healthy choice.

I stumbled across this market when wandering through Fitzrovia one fine afternoon, looking for something different to eat. By the time I'd reached Goodge Place, I'd walked in and out of more than a few chain shops, unable to find something which ticked both the 'affordable' and 'healthy' boxes.
Then I came across this market. I spied a salad stall, and decided to go for that. After all, it was pretty decently priced at £4 for a large box of sundried tomatoes, cous cous, aubergines, beans and other vegetables. To my surprise, the salad also came with a thick chunk of Turkish bread, which made it even better value for money.
There's an assortment of other stalls here as well - Mexican, Thai, falafels - and they're here Monday to Friday.

I'm always surprised at how many people who work around Fitzrovia have never dared to sample the delights of this mini food market.
Despite the long queues which form around the stalls at lunchtime, many office workers still prefer to spend their money on plastic tasting microwave meals from the nearby Tesco Metro than spend an average of four quid for an authentic taste of international cuisine.
The Thai stall in particular is very good and the wonderful aromas that fill the air are testament to the great flavours that lovingly go into the dishes.
The falafel stand is also always very busy and the ingredients always look really fresh.
A recent addition to the Market is the salad stand which is much better than anything on offer in nearby Planet Organic. The range on offer is really impressive and for four pounds you get a slice of fresh bread to accompany your very full tub of salad. The olive selection is particularly good here.
Finally, if you can't be bothered queuing for a burrito at Benito's Hat which is a stone's throw away you could do a lot worse than to sample the Mexican food available here too.

Want something tasty for lunch? Bored of the boring sandwich places? Then this is the place to head. Whenever I’m hankering after something tasty but not quite sure what I wonder over here with its collection of food stalls. Choose from Chinese, burritos, Thai, salads, wraps that are all made in front of your very eyes using pretty fresh ingredients. Most of them will set you back a fiver but for a lunch with a splash of character, you can’t beat this little patch.

What a great little haven of cheep stalls!
I bet the grumpy men clutching their Pret boxes are beyond bored with the local business people eating their wares on their stoops, but it’s all in the name of a more relaxed city right?
Free bird burrito is my haven, but the vegetarian cart and the thai are also a must visit.

To some this place might seem like a mere collection of vans selling cheap Chinese food. To the more informed however it is an aromatic treasure trove of value for money asian delights. Having sampled the Beef Curry with Rice I can whole-heartedly recommend it as a fun alternative to Lemsip as the heat of it blows all your cobwebs away. Also on offer are tasty spring rolls, chicken that’s as sweet as it is sour and oh so moreish noodles.

A great little collection of foody stalls just off Goodge Street - a great find if you work in the areas , as it’s perfect when you’re running out of lunch ideas.
Freebird Burritos are here for a start so that’s a good start, there’s also a Mediterranean salad stal (which i think also has a location just off Shaftesbury avenue) which is great value for a huge box of healthiness and a hunk of bread. There’s a thai stall and a chinese/noodles van to choose from as well, so plenty to choose from and most of it for under a fiver.

Good value and a great selection for sure. Prices are very reasonable (in the £3.50-£5 range for a filling lunch). Vegetarians are well catered for.
The traffic noise and hubbub from nearby Goodge St is a slight distraction from the good food on offer, but not a serious problem.
Nice to have such a wide-ranging and affordable selection in one location.

Chinese,Thai,Mexican,Mediterranean & Middle Eastern street food has arrived(since a year) in Fitzrovia and I feel so lucky to be working so close to this little hidden diamond of a place in this part of London.I got some juicy succulent King Prawns with chilli and garlic with noodles all for £3.80 and it was mouth watering delicious. The choice is endless and I would like to hear from fellow Qypers who work close by and find out their opinion. I give it 5* for quality and value-update-I went back and had a very tasty Thai chicken green curry which reminded me of having the same dish in a family run restaurant in Bangkok-near Sukhmvit

Yeah - sound really interesting. I will try this out. I feel a lunchtime explore coming on.
Goodge Street is surprising sometimes. One minute you feel like you’re in a sea of posh eateries, the next a whole load of chains. Then you come across Goodge Street food Market with all its cute little food stands.
I’m going there for my lunch in an hour. I can’t decide between the burritos (steak or chicken, lots of goodies, only £4), or maybe salad - all veggies stuff but really good value with beans and cous cous and about £3. There’s Thai and Chinese stalls that I haven’t even tried yet. Maybe I’ll do that today.
It’s a complete shock to find this place - opposite a Pret of course - and it’s a brilliant shock. I’m hungry.
