I had the same problem with skytours as well. They want me to give all my credit caard information, copy of my id and a signed paper. I really appreciate if some who had the same experience can tell us more if this is safe or not. Many thanks.
Hello, in some cases we have to mae sure that the credit card owner is actually authorizing the payment. We want to keep this situations as seldom as possible.
it is just a security measure to avoid unauthorized credit card charged. Online Travel Agencies and airlines are suffering from oline fraud, resulting in a damage which is 5 per cent of the total sales. This is a difficult situation. Of course we can only use computer algorithms to filter out possible fraudulant bookings. When we are not sure about the booking we contact the client and ask to give us additional information, which only the credit card owner has. We understand that this may mean an inonvenience to our customers. At the end of the day it helps to reduce chargebacks and losses, which keeps the price of the tickets lower.

I booked a flight to Canada through Sky Tours and the airline changed the flights slightly so I no longer could make the connections. Sky Tours wanted to charge me for changing the tickets, even if it wasn’t my fault at all. I called Air Canada and they told me that changing tickets in these situations is free, but that the travel agent is the one that needs to do it.
After calling them again with this information, they said that they didn’t care, and that if I wanted the flights changed (in order to be able to make the flight at all!), I had to pay them. I paid them the 50 extra euros and never again used them.

hey, ive booked flights with them from washinton to vegas with us airways – worried now that its a scam – were u registered on the flights aside from the issues?
@saaccp Are you sure you booked through Sky-tours.com? We do have zero fee policy in case of involuntary schedule changes! There are other agencies out there with a similar name that may be doing differently. Please check again and correct your comment.

I have just experienced the same thing. I checked ticket price from Skyscanner and it linked me to sky-tours. they seemed to have a very good cheap price and then I booked from them. I received a confirmation email and flight details, but then I realized that the flight time they got me was not the time I desired and so I tried to change it by sending them email. They replied to me in a reasonable amount of time and suggested me to just cancel the flight because it was still in queue to be processed anyway and book the flight that I desired. And so I cancelled it, they give confirmation that all my booking has been cancelled and they said they didn’t charge me for anything. Apparently when I checked with the bank the ticket price has been charged. Knowing this matter I sent email directly to sky-tours to confirm whether there will be a refund. They explained that they had only reserved the fund and short time after that they confirmed to me that they have released it and asked me to confirm with the bank. My bank informed that there has been no cancellation confirmation from them. Knowing this I tried to contact them but there is no response until now. I am trying to call them and send them emails subsequently until I hear from them.
I will not give up on this though at least for now, not because it was involving quite amount of money also I respected myself to get what I deserve. Among other customer who experience the same thing wouldn’t it be too soft and irresponsible for us if we keep letting this thing happen by always letting them go and letting them not taking fully responsible to what they have done? I know it must be tiring and seems like wasting time and effort to claim our money back, but if it is true that this site is a scam, then by letting them do as they like and away from their responsibility would means that we have helped them, we were the one who give opportunity for them to make themselves richer from their own customer’s lost. Therefore, if they are not a scammer, they should work hard to maintain the customers trust by listening and concern about them more. Our complain and claim to them (if we really deserve it) supposedly can be a good lesson for them to learn to be better. I hope by writing this comment, any people who read will be more careful in online dealing. And I hope Sky-Tour also read this and give me back my money as soon as possible.

I used www.Sky-tours.com website since about 2 years. I flew 5-6 times with them withn Europe and to the USA and all I can say : I had absolutely no problems.

Just yesterday I used Skyscanner to search for some flights from Ireland to Canada, and of course, Sky-Tours came back as the cheapest option. After checking out their website, I went ahead and booked the flights, and received confirmation of my itinerary via email. After checking my bank account this morning, I noted that the transaction had gone ahead and the price of the flights had been deducted.
You can imagine my surprise then, when an hour later, I received an email from them stating:
Your flight booking was unsuccessful and we were unable to confirm your
reservation.
This error may have been caused by one of the following:
-connection failure with the central reservation system or
-an invalid fare rule or
-an invalid fare
Your credit card has NOT been debited for this transaction.--------------------------
We recommend that you take the following action:------------------------
You may attempt to make the reservation again, making sure that your
credit card information, including address is correct.
All further attempts to contact them via email thus far have been ignored. I opened a web support ticket on their site, however they seem to use a free, open source support ticket system, which makes me dubious. I've just received an email from them saying that my support ticket has been updated, however when I try to login to their website to view the response, it asks me for a login name and password, which was not supplied to me, and attempting to use their so called "Help" option, simply brings users to a page which says and I quote directly here, "Fatal error..get tech support" Very professional I must say...
Currently, I'm in the process of having my bank carry out a chargeback on the payment in order to recover my money. My advice to everyone even thinking about using this company is don't. Simple as that. You will only end up out of pocket with absolutely nothing to show for it. Better to stick with the larger more reputable travel companies. If I could give this zero stars I would.

I also fell for the sky tours scam.
Basically they charge your credit card for tickets without any form of customer service, so when I booked a flight and the airline changed the flight details I wasn't able to change my flight details even after numerous emails and phone calls to both the airline and sky tours.
Ask yourself this: why would an international travel agency not offer an english language phone number or a working email address?

My boyfriend and I decided to go to Tioman in Malaysia and we wanted to book air tickets with Berjaya Air through Skytours. Skytours added without our knowledge and consent 300dkk which is approximately 40 euro to our bill as a 'service charge'.
This service charge could have been tolerable if only we had gotten the tickets that we wanted. We received 'e-tickets' from Skytours and all the info on the tickets were correct and in accordance with our booking and wishes.
BUT when we arrived at Subang Airport in Malaysia the check-in counter denied us because we weren't on the list. We hurried to Berjaya Air's office at the airport and they told us that even though we had valid tickets we did not hold seats!? The travel agent (i.e. Skytours) had not met the deadline to book the seats on that particular flight and we had booked many days in advance. Unfortunately the plane was fully booked so we had to stay one additional night in Kuala Lumpur and lost one night in Tioman which was prepaid. We booked seats for the flight next day.
Of course we contacted Skytours but they denied any error from their side.
Not only did this cost us more in hotels but we also had our vacation ruined.

I had a similar problem with skytours.
Sorry to hear your vacation ruined, i almost ended up in the same situation.
I booked a flight with them, credit card charged and 2 confirmation emails. Later that day I recieved an email stating that the reservation was unsuccessful and that I should "try again". It also stated that my credit card had not been charged which was untrue.
I had to scramble to get another more expensive flight with a stopover not to compromise the rest of my trip. I have yet to see if they will return the money they charged my Credit Card.
