"Take Away"

Ordered a take away and was told it would be around 45 mins to an hour to be delivered....Well it was worth the wait, excellent food, very light and fresh tasting.

i ate here last night.. as a newby to sushi food i was intrigued by the menu but did require some help in deciding what to eat.. i had help off one of the members of staff who i found very helpful and friendly... the guy who had been serving me and my wife appeared to know exactly what his talking about and i felt very confident with what he suggested, for someone who hasnt eaten sushi before i enjoyed it a lot.
definetely a place i would recommend to people great atmosphere and great staff.

(updated on 22 May 2012 )

This place has just opened and the “virgin” coctails were off the menu when we visited. They don’t offer alcohol either.

I was a bit worried that they wouldn’t do much for veggies when I first scanned the menu, the Sushi was all fish but they had all sorts of interesting veggie dishes some of which were marked as vegetarian and others that appeared to be veggie but weren’t marked.

I had some avocado maki rolls to start followed by tofu with sticky rice and curry sauce. It was all really good food and arrived quickly.

My friends ordered meat dishes all of which were approved of and I think we are going to find ourselves going there more often.

I’m going to mark down my review for this place. The second time we ate there the food took an hour to arrive and the restaurant slowly filled up with irritated takeaway customers who had ordered by phone.

Most recently I went in to be told the chef who did sushi was ill and they wouldn’t be able to do sushi. I left wondering why other places I eat manage not to have crises on every occasion I visit.

See below for copy of email I have just sent them - needless to say I do not recommend! "To whom it may concern I ordered a take away from your restaurant via the just eat website last night for delivery. On placing the order I was advised that delivery would take between 1 and 1 ½ hours, I should expect to receive my order by 2050. I ordered the following items: - Tuna sashimi - Edamame beans - Chicken Katsu Curry 30 minutes or so after placing the order we were telephoned and advised that there was no tuna sashimi available. I requested yeloow tail instead. At 2105 my order had still not arrived so I contact Kimaya. I was told that the food had left and would be within 5 minutes. I telephoned back at 2115 and advised the order had still not arrived. I was again told the order had just left and that unfortunately they were busy so it could take up to an hour an a half for orders to be delivered. I explained that at this stage we were close to two hours and could he please confirm when I would receive my order as I had been told that it would be here by 2050 and was getting annoyed. I was advised it would be with me very soon and that he would try and arrange a 20% discount for next time I placed an order. 10 minutes later my order finally arrived. It was not good. The sashimi was warm and had a very odd texture. I had one bite and threw the rest away. The chicken katsu curry was cold and I was vaguely aware that the chicken appeared to have a pink tinge to it. Nonethless I put it in the microwave to reheat. It was vile. The chicken had a jelly like texture to it, the breadcrumbs were soggy and the rice terribly overcooked. The sauce was ok but it did not make up for the poor quality of everything else on the plate. That too went in the bin after a few bites. I niavely thought that anyone could get edamame beans right. Sadly not to be. They were undercooked. It was like eating peanuts. I had 2 or 3 and they then joined the rest of my meal in the bin. So after a two hour wait I found myself chucking the entire meal in the bin. Needless to say the 20% discount will not be required, I will not be eating from your establishment again."

Poor, ordered delivery, the sushi just wasn't of the required standard, i spent £50 and chucked it in the bin, extremely disappointing and hugely annoying. I ordered a Laksa and got a clear broth soup with reconstituted fish balls - oh dear...
