A fun and friendly place with busy decor - the walls are covered in small framed pictures - which seems to attract quite a young crowd. Specialises in pizza and pasta and can do everything gluten free. On the pizza menu you get 3 options of sauce (white (creamy), green (pesto) or red (as we know it normally).) Good pizza bases, tho my toppings were a little bland (as it seems my 'companion' has already commented on!) - but a well thought through menu.

Fratelli's pitches itself in the student/young-trendy market with its wall-to-wall framed pictures, the diner-like furniture and the music playing mostly music that's a little dated (on purpose). The price is average (not budget, but not very pricey) and the food is certainly done well.

Based on previous recommendations I decided on the pizza, after a starter which was rather expensive for a simple plate of antipasti. The real treat here is the thought that has gone into the pizza toppings - they're not loaded like other chain pizza restaurants but the toppings are well thought-out and go together well. The carne feast (meat feast to you and me) was excellent with lots of different sorts of meat, while my companion had goats' cheese, rocket and olive, which turned out to be a touch bland but very good.

As previously recommended, the house red wine was very drinkable and comes in a variety of possible volumes depending on how much you want - useful when driving or watching the wallet.

On the whole, though, this place is easily overshadowed by another local Italian restaurant, especially considering the décor won't be to everyone's tastes here.

Restaurant has a very cool feel to it and the staff are really friendly. Pizza is good and it's great in the garden at the back in summer.

the pizza's here are really nice and the service is generally friendly but the pasta dishes when i went were very dissappointing. as a group of 8 or so, about half of us has pasta or risotto and none were impressed. the food was kind of ok but just really dry and bland.

Outstanding itslian food - pizza and pasta restaurant. Friendly staff and management. Good prices and the serve gluten free pizza and pasta if you eant it which is ace.

Fratellis’s is my new favourite place to eat! The food is fantastic, and very reasonably priced. I have to say this is the very best Pizza I have ever eaten in Oxford. Love the atmoshpere, and the house red is great.
So glad the restaurant changed, the old place here was very past it!
If you haven’t been there already, you really are missing out.

The guys that run this place Martin and James know what they are talking about, a bit far down the road, but well worth the walk!

There food/theme is rustic Italian and it taste/feels good. There is a certain attention to detail that other restaurateurs seem to miss. Like the Italian phrases etched on the toilet walls (translations included), the old posters that litter the wall and the wooden beams and bars that give the place character.

Obviously the food is the most important thing, again they have stuck to there guns - simple Italian food cooked and prepared in the right way. You can taste flavor in every dish and if you want you can even do as the Italians do and share! The owners are usually around and are more then happy to talk to you, which I always think makes the rest of the staff pick their game up. To top it all off it’s good value they serve a range of Italian wines and the cheapest is, to my surprise quite palatable.

Go on give it a go.

Great food, a little piece of Italy in Cowley Road. The best Pizza & Pasta you can find, and take away on all food also.
Life is too short for average food!
