Cotswold Water Park Four Pillars Hotel

This is my second stay at this location for a trade show. The awards style dinner for over 200 people was well catered for and the food arrived at the table hot and appetising, and very well presented. The staff served quickly and efficiently with no long delays between the courses. The bedrooms are large and well equipped. Mine had a walk in style wardrobe and included a safe, a nice addition if you have cards, cash or jewelry with you on your trip. The setting is beautiful and if you are lucky enough to get a bedroom overlooking the lake you are well rewarded at dawn. I got the car park view this time but you only a few steps from the patio walkway which is built over the waters edge. The site is huge, and if you have mobilty issues you may want to specify a room nearer the reception and facilities area. All rooms and facilities are well signposted and you would find it hard to lose your bearings.
Preparation and cleaning of the room was excellent and all the staff were friendly and helpful.
This is a premium site and everything about it is in keeping with it's intended market placement. An excellent venue to stay in and to attend a conference or corporate event.

I can't comment on the price as I'm not footing my bill.

Don’t use the post code in your GPS, you’ll end up miles away….. Use GL7 5TL If you’re looking for a smart business hotel then this will suit well. I stop here often and the rooms are spacious with good beds and well kept offering free Internet and wi-fi in the lounge. Parking is plentiful but it is a drive into Cirencester if you don’t eat in the hotel. The restaurant would not be my first choice as Cirencester has good eateries but is acceptable if you don’t want to drive (I eat in the bar). The lake area is lovely in the summer and you can feed the birds from your room if you’re on the ground floor. Cell phone reception is iffy but there are repeaters inside the hotel now, dealing with this. Spa, pool & gym are available to guests but children in the pool has restricted times. This is a new build hotel so no Cotswold charm but if you want that stop at the Swan Hotel, Bibury. Breakfast is buffet style and can be slow with the tables not cleared quickly but there are plenty of tables, perhaps it’s more waiting staff they need. Worth stopping.

Open the curtains at 6 o’clock and look out at the big ball of red burning into your eyeballs, but beautifully framed against the reed bed and watery landscape.

Lovely setting for a new, tastefully done out hotel in Cotswold country but with the added attraction of being sited on the Water Park, water-life in abundance.

Friendly and helpful staff, excellent food, large car parks, easy main road access, well equipped gym and indoor swimming pool (I suppose you could jump into the lake as a shocking alternative).

Highly recommended.
