Istanbul BBQ Restaurant

We passed this place en-route to Le Delice, further along Hoe Street, and ended up returning when the latter failed to live up to its name.

For £9.30 we enjoyed falafel, accompanied by hoummous, a large mixed salad, a dish of a kind of aubergine and potato salad served in a light dressing, and enough Turkish bread to feed five, all followed by coffee for both of us.

Charming and friendly staff.

Quite unexpected – don’t be put off by column of meat suspended in the window. Although it’s clearly a carnivore’s hangout, serving kebabs and grilled meat, they’re veggie (and vegan) friendly. Or at least, they were to me.
