A group of hair stylists and dressers that actually listen to their clients!yaaaay! It's always a gorgeous experience when I come here- so good I've told my boyfriend about it too! I'd reccomend ANYONE who loves creativity, collaboration and great hair styling to come here for the full experience. And a special shout out to Bully and Juno- mwah! Xxx

I think that this is a very pleasant salon. I'm planning to go there soon, because I need a new hairstyle. I'm interested in the ombre colours, this is kind of a craze nowadays. My hair now is blond, but I'm thinking to colour the ends of my hair in a darker colour.

Had a really fantastic experience from the moment I stepped in it was just a lovely luxury atmosphere had my hair and make up done by Darren for my 21st birthday and it looked absolutely amazing had to many comments on how great it all look.Salon is gorgeous and I would recommend to all! Think I've found my new hairdresser!

From the moment I stepped into Darren Scott salon, I felt absolutely pampered! All the staff at Darren Scott salon made me feel extremely welcome especially my hair stylist, Lawrence. From the moment he introduced himself I thought wow very gorgeous and hot but also felt very comfortable and wow what a service he gave me what a haircut and colour I had will meet go anywhere else

I have just recently moved to the Maida Vale area and stumbled across this local, trendy and extremely friendly salon. On arrival I was greeted with open arms and was made to feel at home. After being taken to the backwash I had an incredible shiatsu head massage and peppermint treatment - it was amazing. I was then taken to my stylist and Lawrence started my hair cut. My hair has NEVER been cut with such precision and was delighted, especially after so many bad experiences with barbers/hairdressers. I asked what products he used and Lawrence told me what they were and why. I bought them so I could attempt the look at home, and this cut and these products are phenomenal. All I can say is go here if you want to look great. Sending my Mrs there too. Thanks again, finally I have a great salon.

I went to Darren Scott for a colour correction. I turned up quite late but they still agreed to do my hair and even got some pizza in as I'd skipped dinner.
Having had a bad experience at the previous salon I wasn't sure what I should do, I was offered great advice and felt looked after. The result? Exactly what I asked for. By far the best salon I have been to for afro hair. Passionate and professional; they know exactly what they're doing, they're friendly and down to earth with it too! You really are in safe hands here.

I visited Darren Scott Salon in Maida Vale to have my hair coloured, styled and my make-up done for London Fashion Week. I highly recommend the salon and the talented team, the results were absolutely fantastic. The whole team are friendly and welcoming, extremely talented and knowledgeable and I will be coming to this salon from now on. I really can't recommend Darren Scott Salon enough, I love my hair! I wanted to have kinky twists installed as I knew that I would be doing a lot of traveling over the holiday period. What I did not want was to put my natural hair through the trauma of an indifferent and untrained stylist. I conducted a pretty exhaustive internet search for natural hair salons and eventually came across a number of blog glowing blog posts and reviews on various websites. I visited the websites and although the salon is not billed as a 'natural salon' I figured that if so many naturals liked it, it had to be worth a look.

And boy am I glad that I did!

Everything was perfect from the moment I walked in the door. I got the warmest welcome and the offer of a nice hot cup of tea from James. Even more amazing? I forgot to bring the hair that I needed and had just had surgery, so walking down the street to get it was going be to difficult. The gang just told me to have a seat and they walked out to get the hair for me...now THAT is customer service! I definitely knew that I was going to be in good hands when after talking with the two braiders, James brought around photos of different kinky twists styles to make certain that I would get exactly what I wanted.

Even better for natural heads out there to note: The two women who worked on my hair were both naturals. I had a great conversation with them about my dry hair issues and I really felt that they knew their stuff. They made some great recommendations about both store-bought and natural products that I could use while I have the kinky twists and when I remove them. They both talked about the process of growing/strengthening their natural hair and it really helped me to hear their perspectives and to ask questions of people who were clearly professionals. Throughout the process they were both gentle as could be with my hair. At one point I had three people working on me and I barely felt a thing, they were so careful and professional. My braids were done in record time and I was really pleased with not only the result, but also to know that I hadn't just done an amazing amount of damage to my hair by putting the braids in.

I need to put some color into my hair and I will definitely be going back to Darren Scott salon for that as well. I recommend them wholeheartedly.

Attended the Darren Scott salon for the first time after hearing such wonderful things via YouTube and hairblogs, especially from those with natural afro textured hair. I had always wanted a plum tint on my natural hair and when I contacted them telling what I wanted Darren and the team were not only swift at responding to my email but also more than helpful answering my questions about the process and after care needed.

Although I was really nervous on the day of the colouring and the whole way through the application the actual final result (colour) was exactly what I wanted! Darren really listened to what I wanted in the consultation and I am more than happy with how my hair turned out. I will definatley be returning even though it is a long journey from where I live however, I felt like I could trust the stylists with my hair and from having only been to the salon once the quality of service is well worth the journey.

Reasonable prices, excellent service and a cosmopolitan environment. What more could a girl ask for?

The place to go to if you want your hair to look healthy, shiny and perfect! Darren Scott Salon is the best salon I've ever been to. I got weaves on and you couldn't see the difference with my real hair. Darren ,James and the rest of the staff are very friendly and professional. They know what is best for your hair and are willing to answer ALL your questions.
I am usually anxious when I have to try new salons but surprisingly enough I could not wait to have my hair done as I had been told to go there! I'm glad I listenned to my friends!

Thank you for your professionalism and your miracles!

See you VERY soon!

Ps: They are lovely to the point of making sure you're ok and at ease after long hours of work ^^

This is one of those times when I don't want to write a positive review. Because if I do, more people will go to the salon and I may find it difficult to get an appointment. But putting my selfish needs aside, I have to give credit where credit is due. I've been to high end salons before, paid my money and left feeling nice hair but not overwhelmed. You know what I mean? Your hair looks nice, but you don't feel special, you weren't treated particularly friendly, it was just so so. I've been to cheap (and cheap and nasty) salons. And basically, I got what I paid for. Poor service, being ignored for hours, stylists friends walking in of the street and getting seen to before me, being cursed because I wasn't happy, having my scalp burnt etc etc.

Now, I went to Darren Scott salon for the first time yesterday. This is after I emailed first, sent pictures of the style I was looking for and was generally a bit of a pain really. But Darren and James answered all my queries so I made the appointment. I walked into the salon a bit flustered and 10 mintes late. (it's a black thing). Darren was finishing someone's hair and he greeted me by name (he has never seen me before! told me to make my self comfortable and was offered a drink. Less than 5 minutes later, Abby came to see me, went through my style needs for confirmation and discussed with Darren and then they got to work.

Let me tell you, you will never feel so welcomed and cared for so much in any other salon. They looked after me from beginning to end. I was cracking up with laughter with some of the things that were going on around us with a certain trades person who was in there. I was fed and watered and treated like a family friend. I left there feeling like a Diva. The hair and colour reflected who I was as a person. I love this place, it is now my forever salon. I should say, they specialise in Afro and European hair and do both equally well and treat all clients equally. so no one will be banished to the basement. When I was there, there was weaves going on, white guys getting their hair done, black white and asians coming in making their appointments. Welcome to 21st Century hairdressing. High End service and reasonable pricing.

Had my ultra curly hair cut by Lawrence at this salon a few wks back and he was absolutely amazing!!! He understood exactly what I wanted even though I was crap at explaining it and the awesome layered bob I now have is beyond perfect. Not only that but he totally understood how to cut curly hair.

Aside from the cut everyone in the salon was so nice and friendly and it was so affordable. I hunted high and low for a salon before settling on this one and was very nervous with what I would end up with but everyone was friendly, the cut was perfect and was 30 pound in the end which was half what I thought it would be. They charged me less because I wasn't getting it blow dried and they even let me stay and hang out and have a cup of coffee whilst I waited for my hair to dry a bit naturally before going out in to the rain. And even more impressive whilst I was there I saw staff give an umbrella to another client because it had started raining unexpectedly and she didn't have her own.

I highly recommend this salon to anyone and especially recommend Lawrence to anyone with curly hair looking for a hairdresser that actually understands curls.

I was wondering whether the salon would live up to the great online reviews and thankfully it did. I was also dubious about whether a salon linked to a 'celebrity stylist' would be more style over substance but those fears were unfounded. Despite being located in posh Maida Vale the salon is remarkably down to earth and incredibly friendly. The staff have a fantastic knack of making you feel like a regular who has been going there for years. Kerrie, the stylist who cut my hair was so lovely and listened to what I wanted and did a really good job. I came out smiling and happy about my hair. From what I have read they are specialists in Afro hair. Thankfully they also seem to have dealt well with my incredibly fine and wispy European hair too.

All the staff were charming. Managed my really very annoying hair very well. I've put average for price but tbh I think it is an absolute bargain. Definitely high end service with the "average" prices. Will be going back.

I found Darren by intensively researching the web. I moved to London almost 2 years ago from North America (Vancouver/New York) and have been going back to get my hair sorted out (economically stupid, yes I know!). Darren and James were so lovely - it was chucking it down out side, so they made me a cup of tea! I have what Darren called "special" hair (lol) - I have mixed-ish afro hair with 4or 5 different curl patterns - needless to say, I was EXTREMELY nervous about letting anyone touch my hair. During my consultation, he listened to my concerns and was very attentive to the different textures, so I decided to let him cut it. BEST DECISION EVER!! He was sooooooo thorough! He sectioned my hair by curl texture and cut it accordingly. I was extremely satisfied with the results and received several compliments on it. I will most certainly be going back to Darren and have recommended him to friends. Seriously, go there!!

When I booked the appointment wasn't sure what I wanted to do with my hair. Staff listened well and good at talking through the options. I have afro hair and had a Brazilian blow dry. Was super pleased with the result. Staff all professional and friendly. Salon has a cool atmosphere. Will definitely be making Darren Scott my regular salon.
