Sells a variety of items for DIY and the kitchen as well as food and pet products. Quite long queues which can clog up the aisles although they are wider than in the nearby 99p store.
fab place to shop at mo for household, toiletries and stocking fillers plenty of brand name products

A fairly large branch of the famous everything-for-£1 store and they have a good selection of things. It’s always packed and very useful to basic items for cleaning, etc.
I find it brilliant if you’re doing a Secret Santa type thing at work - we always try and get people to do one and then you buy joke gifts and you can find some really funny naff items!
It’s always packed the staff are miserable and unhelpful. They obviously sell a lot of tat and frankly you have to bit a bit careful because for some of the items if you check you’ll find them sold for less than a pound elsewhere! It might sound petty but I found a shower gel there which Savers chemists were selling for 79p - not a huge difference but then if you’re shopping here it’s because you’re on a budget and that is a 21% difference in price!

It dont take a genius to work out how much you pay for stuff in this store, but it can be a treasure trove at times, there is always something new each time I go in here although I do tend to avoid weekends as it can get pretty manic and the queues are rather large. Biggest downfall for me was the staff as some of them are rather rude and a few lessons in customer service would not go amiss. Definately have a good look around as you really dont know what you will find even if its just a couple of stocking fillers coming up to christmas.

Big store goes without saying everthing costs a pound. Lots of seasonal items now halloween is over full of Christmas items. Worth a look around.

Poundland is a must for people short of cash, as they always have things you need to buy, but at a fraction of the price of larger chains or supermarkets. The food/drink and stationary aisles are particularly good, as you are always getting more for your money. You can pick-up a pack of 12 crisps, photo frames, 3 pack of teatowels, a diary, car/pet accessories, tissues, folders, envelopes, writing pads, 40/50 pens, childrens toys, food containers, underwear, plant pots/food, all for £1. I also recently got 3 birthday cards for £1, and 2 crisps and 2 cans of drink for £1 that were on a multibuy offer.
The downside is the queues, occassionally being ovecharged/shortchanged, small aisles and people constantly hogging the aisles.
Overall, pondland is worth it, because of the money you save.

A penny more than the 99p store! Poundland and the 99p store seem to have very similar stock in a lot of the time, although at times you will find different items. Poundland is better for stationary, great for the kids going back to school. Occasionally you can find an offer of '2 for £1’ giving you an ever better saving. The staff in this store are friendly enough and the layout of the shop, although a bit tight, is easy to get around.
