The Captains Lodge

We stayed at the Captain’s Lodge for two nights in Newbiggin by the Sea.  We had a room with a view overlooking the bay and this couldn’t have been better.  The room was tastefully decorated and was bright and clean.   The en suite was a little small but sufficient for the length of stay.  Kathy the Landlady said to ask for anything that we might need and she kindly provided shampoo.  There was a four poster double bed, which was comfortable, although for us a larger size would have provided a better sleep.  Tea and coffee makings were very good.  The TV was analogue, but this area should receive digital reception by August this year.  The breakfast was enormous and I enjoyed it very much.  My Wife doesn’t normally eat breakfast, but Kathy provided her with some sandwiches for our departure on the second day. Five star for location and service and four star for facilities.
